I have been post processing some of my old shots which comprises couple of weeks old to about a year old shots to enhance up close eye contact with subjects. I shoot with Pentax K-70 and DA 55-300 lens.
The first one is Oriental Green Lizard or Calotes
Second one is Shikra
The third one is spotted deer in Gir Forest India
Best regards C&C welcome.

Humidity is a tough menace, it sneaks through the moving parts, here the lenses. Over the time it will enter to camera compartment too. The best practice is to wipe the camera off if wet and dry outside the bag and then should be put inside the bags with active desiccant such as adsorbent silica (in a bag). I think weather sealing is just first line of defence against accidental splash, sand storms, showers etc but can’t stop humidity in the long run.

Could you please post a screenshot? Because the message could be a ✅ tickmark on Pentax ip in your phone but “ no internet connection “ which is fine because your camera is not a router or source of internet and thus phone gives such message. But if ✅ mark is there means it is connected. Now you need to open image sync app and there is a tiny icon on right most corner for establishing connection with camera via image sync. Once that is done you can wirelessly open your camera images, import them to your phone/tab and also shoot using your phone/tab.
K-70 manual needs to have more info on image sync app and its usage.

Congratulations to you and your family. This is kinda once in a lifetime type occasion, then why take chances. Shoot in RAW+jpeg, you can always delete later.

I think old WR lens is quite capable too. I think PLM has just a silent and quicker motor and Retractable design. You shall get good images I am sure.

That message simply says the WiFi device is connected but that device is not providing any internet signals, which is fine. Camera is not a modem or wifi router to provide internet to your phone. But once this connection is established you should directly go to the image sync app of Ricoh and then on right most corner there is a small camera+wifi connectivity type symbol, just press it to activate and then your camera is connected to your phone or ipad (or any android device). Once the connection is established you can access your camera from your device.

Irix is a well made lens as per reports. Eventually would love to have both.
Atindra ---------- Post added 03-20-2018 at 08:06 AM ----------
Rokinon also I am considering. In India finding 3rd party lenses for Pentax is not easy. Most of them are imported on special order so return is difficult.

I will keep this in mind. Quality of DA 15 mm ltd is good right out of the box. I don’t mind MF lenses in wide angle domain.
Atindra ---------- Post added 03-20-2018 at 08:10 AM ----------
DA 15 is flare king, you mean it controls the flares really well right? Which is good for Architecture, landscapes having Sun etc.

Fantastic images. The last shot exhibits this lens’ capability to shoot at Sun directly. Coating by Pentax is awesome maybe.

Thanks for suggestions but overall still the floor is wide open and the confusion remains. I have not owned any limited lens yet so might get tilted to 15mm ltd. Suddenly Rokinon 14mm F2.8 has also made decision making difficult.
Best

I am contemplating an idea of buying a new lens for wide angle range, for landscapes. I am thinking of primes over zoom lenses at the moment.
My choices are HD DA 15mm ltd or Irix 15 mm f/2.4 ( Blackstone or firefly), just to add more complications, I might add Pentax 14mm f/2.8. Now the problem is only Irix is WR lens, while two Pentax lenses are not weather sealed. I need advice from Pentaxians about image quality and handling of these lenses in comparison or otherwise.
Best regards,

I went for K-70 and 18-135 mm and also added 55-300 mm PLM WR RE lens. This combination is fantastic, you will never regret and yet your budget will be very much under control. I would advise you to get wide prime lens to be added later such as 15 mm ldt or 14mm f/2.8 lens.

Yup Alex,
Well taken and noted. Basically I had to remain grounded for two reasons one as I was invited as dignitary (being director of one research center) and second my two daughters were accompanying me and if I'd moved, the younger would have followed me creating unnecessary disturbance. But next time I would not like to get prominence if I plan to shoot.
Best regards,
