Buy a trip instead of new equipment. Nothing will give you more inspiration.

Post a picture straight from the camera that shows the problem. Maybe you've overlooked an issue that someone else here can identify.

Is it only me that cannot see the bottleneck here? The image has been cropped too much at the top...

I guess they have three possibilities more or less:
- Always crop APS-C lenses.
- User decides when to crop APS-C lenses.
- Different crop setting for each unique lens.
Or a combination of them through settings. Also they can play with the amount of crop.
They could have implemented all three already and now just testing it. This isn't one of the more complex tasks when developing a DSLR. Can't see how this would affect the production...

Agree. It will be a HUGE step up from your *ist DL! Btw, K-30 and K-50 are essentially the same, so no need to pay more for the K-50 just because it's a newer model.

Must be a regional thing. Just in my small country (population of 10 mil) there are 15-20 cell line phone companies and probably more ISP's. On the other hand, there actually are stores carrying Pentax here :)

K-30 is almost identical to K-50. If you can get a good deal on a K-30 I'd recommend that.

You should also consider K-30. It's almost identical to K-50.
Personally I would go for K-3 if I had the money, or K-30 if on a tight budget.

Tried to donate but got "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different debit or credit card number." Strange... it's a standard VISA. Anyone knows why?

Most weddings I've been to had a paid photographer shooting portraits of the bride+groom and best man+bride's maid before or after church. And also the ceremony in church, but not the reception afterwards. A few weddings were only one of either portraits or the ceremony. I have also never seen a photographer use a flash inside the church. I guess there are other norms in other parts of the world.
Anyway, my point is that the recommendations that you need two flashes, tripod etc might not always be applicable.

I get what you mean. Of course a high score represents a lens that fares good in their tests. I'm not arguing this.
But that is not what the thread is about in my understanding. It is more about the wording on their site and how score is presented as a value of how good a lens is.

No.
I'll try to explain it again: The output of the software is good. The scoring is misleading. Do you see the point?

The results beeing questioned are the score and list of best lenses, not image output from the software.

Great review, thanks!
One thing I noted... you said the K-30 was often sold without WR lens. I think this was a US thing only. At least in Sweden I never saw any K-30 kits with the DA L lens. So the WR lenses were definitaly not announced with the K-50, they were available before that.

Wish I bought the 77 instead of the 43 since I am more into portraits now and already have 43mm covered. Anyone up for a trade? :)
Also wish I bought a decent flash instead of an ultra cheap Dörr DAF 42.
But on the other hand, both have given me great photos I wouldn't have got otherwise...

Another note: personally I would sell the F35-70, Phoenix and Tokina zoom to free some more money, as you already have those lenghts covered. But maybe you use them much?

More suggestions you didn't ask for... :)
Tripod + remove control if you don't already have it.
Or sell your K-x and combined with your gift money you can maybe buy a K-30.

When travelling with the family / kids I always bring a zoom only. It's too unpractical to fiddle around with primes. And also taking photos is not prio 1 then. Plus my other half likes the flexibility of a zoom. Just my experience of course... but something to consider.
