Well if I can remember my wild plants since I don't have my ID books here with me, I believe it is what is called Western Salsify. But that was many years ago and I've moved to a different part of the state.

I captured this image of a snow leopard at Tanganyika Wildlife park in Goddard, KS. He kept an eye on my the whole time.

This was my very first shot on my very first attempt at shooting lighting with my DSLR. I had to tone down the highlights considerably as the strike was very bright and at the end of my exposure.

We took my in-laws out to see the local waterfall just outside town. As we were leaving we noticed a bright yellow flutter. My Father-in-Law opened the moon roof to the van and allowed me to crawl through enough to get this picture of this male goldfinch eating lunch.

I have wanted to take pictures of the stereotypical wheat harvest every year since I got my camera. Every year I seem to be out of the state when the harvest rushes through. I managed to capture this shot before he finished cutting the wheat. I believe this may have been the last farmer in the area cutting...I got back to town just in time.

I believe every photographer who lives in Kansas is required to have wheat harvest pictures ;)
