I've been looking at the 67II and wondered what others that have this camera thought of it. The only negative I've read is the film transport system but, if it's anything like it's predecessors that shouldn't be any problem.
Most of the ones I've seen for sale are on ebay from Japan. Any problems there in general?

I've tried pushing harder to no avail. Maybe if I try to compress the foam and keep trying? I've never had a prism so tight as this. It's obvious the foam is new being twice the thickness as my other prism.
UPDATE-I finally achieved success. I kept compressing the foam and pushed as hard as it would go and it finally locked. I took it outside and the meter is spot on with two other meters I have. I'm gong to leave that prism on the camera a couple days and hopefully it will be easier if I have to use it again.

No, there's no evidence of the old being on there. Looking at the foam from the side in comparison to the old one it's just thicker but looks the same otherwise.

I think I've discovered the problem. The foam on the underneath side is twice as thick as one the old prism and perhaps is causing this. I looked both prisms over top to bottom and that's the only thing that stands out. I tried pushing the prism on a little harder after finding this but it still won't go.

I've looked both of them over and see nothing wrong with either of them. The old one snaps right on with no effort. The new one won't. It's raised slightly in the front prohibiting it from sitting down and locking. I've wiggled it around forward/backward and side to side to no avail.

I got the prism today and wouldn't you know it-it won't fit. It doesn't drop in as easily as the other one or lock despite both of them looking alike. The only difference is my old was has the logo "Ashai Pentax" on the front and this one is just "Pentax". Otherwise, they look identical. What a bummer.

I use to do wedding using two 6x7's and that was a real job. After I'd shoot a roll of 220 VPS I handed it to my assistant who in turn would relaod it while handing me a ready to go body already loaded with 220 VPS. I used two Photogenic PL1500 lights with one inside a large Halo light modifier, a 60 inch umbrella for fill both lights on Talon 8 feet light stands and lights triggered by two Quantum 4i Radio Slaves. Lots of work but the end result was great.

I ordered some RPX-4oo and waiting to try it. I've seen excellent results with it in 120 and 35mm. It'll be interesting to see how it compares with Tri-X.

I've found the old6x7 MLU is about as good as it gets and with lens prices having fallen I now have an assortment I never had back in the 80's such as the 45 f4, 55 f2.8, 75 f4.5, 165 f2.8 and 90 f2.8 along with the LS counterpart. Got the bases covered.:) P6x7 by David Fincher, on Flickr

I'm still looking for a good bag to carry the 6x7 with TTL meter and maybe 3-4 lens and film. Any suggestions most appreciated.

I've never held a 67II or even seen one "in the flesh" other than pictures. I've had three 6x7's over the years and down to one now and wouldn't trade it for a 67II, albeit, it would be nice to have it for the ergonomics and brighter screen if nothing else. My current 6x7 has the meter and is most accurate so, I don't think the 67II would offer much more for me. One good point about the 67II is it doesn't use the tiny frail chain the 6x7 uses. take the lens off before removing the meter and you won't have to worry much about breaking that chain. http://www.salzgeber.at/articles/6x7chainRepair.html |

Skill and knowledge of how to use the software has much to do with the final product, however; I've looked at scans of negatives vs my actual prints and there's just no comparison.

I've read of quite a few people that were less than enthusiastic about Silverfast Soft Ware. I have a disc for it since I bought the Plustek 8200i but am using Epson or ViewScan instead.

Maybe it's just me and that's quite possible but, no scan I've attempted to date whether color/B&W or whether it's 35mm or 120 can compare with an enlarger made print in tone and sharpness. I find it most frustrating. I use a stand along Plustek 8200i and while it does better than the V600 I can't use it for 120.
For Internet sharing via Flickr or some other method I just cant seem to get them sharp enough. They may look pretty good prior to uploading to Flickr but afterwards not so much. Photobucket is even worse.
