Thanks Adam, I thought maybe that firmware update was for the Q family as they seem to be fairly similar.
How about the lens firmware? should that work?

Hello,
I've bought the Pentax Q-S1 for my partner as a x-mas gift. I'm currently trying to update the firmware.
It shipped with firmware 1.00 and lens firmware 1.00
I've gone here and followed the instruction but my camera will not recognise the .bin files I've left in the root of the SD card.
Does anyone have any experience with this camera and updating its firmware?

Hi Everyone,
as expected the flash unit was dead on arrival and a replacement has been sourced.
Replacement flash unit is working well and I've not had a repeat of the original issue.
Regards,
David.

Thanks for your advice C_Jones. The flash doesn't work on or off camera. The test button never lights up. The flash is simply dead. I'll return it to the seller and try get a replacement.

New batteries and the camera flash still wont charge.
I am starting to think the camera flash is broken.

Thanks for the info about the rechargeable batteries.
I'll buy a new set of Duracells on my walk home.
I'll let you all know how I get on.
Thanks.

Hi folks,
Thanks for coming back to me on this issue.
I used Eneloop pro batteries - fully charged. I then used Duracell 2000mah batteries and the problem persisted.

Hello,
I recently bought the Pentax AF360FGZ II camera flash. It worked for about one hours but then it started to produce a high-pitched sound and stopped charging the flash. It displayed the message "lo bat".
I then changed the batteries to a fresh set and the camera flash continues to make the same sound and after a few seconds displays the same message "lo bat".
Anyone know if I've done something wrong, or is the new flash just broken?
