I thank you all for your excellent advice. However, I should give you some additional detail:
> Yes, the mount was broken when the lens was droppwd.
> The lens works perfectly fine on my K-r.
> I have a Pentax-DA L 18-55 purchased at the same time, which works perfectly on my K-100D Super, as well as my K-r.
> When I attach the lens to my 100D and turn on the camera, it appears to be "dead'. In other words, I can't even press the button, as if the batteries were gone.

I just received my Pentax-DA L 55-300 Zoom back from Precision Camera (after a repair of the mount) and it will not work on my K-100D Super. Any thoughts?
