The buffalo were told to keep their distance from the wild photographers - so this one is giving them a wide berth. (photographers and Yellowstone river in background)

Wonderful images, I had a tough time deciding. Really appreciate the sunrise and UFO additions. I often highly crop images like this, but the winner is one of the least cropped versions. I choose savoche as this week's winner!

This photo of a farm/windfarm was shot with my K1 before I had any FF lens. Some aggressive cropping may be needed to pull out the best of this image.
I created a folder in mediafire (PP Challenge #346) and uploaded the DNG file. I'm not sure how to create a link - might need some help here.

Haven't done one of these in a while - just some basic adjustments and a little cropping with Lightroom 5.7.

Here's a crop version. I wanted the sky clearing to anchor one corner and include the sign and foreground path along with the building in the center.

Fantastic bug shots Noel!
I have another winter scene, the sunrise this morning taken from my driveway. You may notice the picture is a little soft. That is because the focus was at about 10 yards - I was in such a hurry that I left the camera on manual focus that I was using for a track meet a few days earlier. I should learn to slow down.

I did some hiking around Duluth Minnesota, this is part of the St. Louis River section that the fur traders had to portage around to get from Lake Superior to the inland lakes and streams. Shot this handheld with the K3 and DA100 macro, I used a high ISO to get a fast shutter speed. The second pic is a 100% crop. I noticed on upload that the size of the second pic was reduced from around 1M to about 200k bytes - the 1M looks a bit sharper. |

Back in my cycling days, a lot of new racers would complain whenever they saw a recreational rider with a nicer bike than they had. The seasoned veterans, however, were okay with it. They felt if any cyclist enjoyed their new bike, and it got them riding more, then more power to them.

Here are some colors from todays harvest of cherry tomatoes. Cropped the photo to close to 100%. (I took this shot to test my FA35 that I just got - arrived just a few hours ago.)

I spy an eye spying back at the photographer. ( I tried to get candid shots by pretending I was cleaning my camera - she didn't fall for it.)

Thanks for hosting Dave - hope the leg is getting better. Wonderful bird shots and landscapes. I miss Tennessee, one place I will consider come retirement time. Eva, really like that first shot. It has been unusually warm here, did a walk around campus with my camera and DFA 28-105, in short sleeves! We will pay for this later I'm sure.

Thanks for hosting Dave. I really enjoy the photos, they may be old photos but they are new to me. Sorry to hear your leg is giving you problems.
I took a trip to the Duluth Minnesota area last weekend. The sunrise shot is the lakeshore of course. The footbridge is at Banning State Park - a really nice area that I will have to visit again. I used two cameras, the K3 with the DA15 for wide angle and shots into the sun. The K1 with the 28-105 for everything else.
