I agree. It's not clear what has actually been done. Removing parts of a lens usually impacts optical quality in some ways...

Hi,
Does anyone know the actual pinouts of the K3 for the grip attachment?
I'm currently considering a project where I need to trigger the shutter with a button but can't access the (poorly placed) remote trigger socket. IR remote/Flu-Card are not suitable, either.
Since it also involves a plate that is screwed into the tripod mount, I could easily access the pins below.
I could buy a cheapo K3 battery grip and tear it down, but maybe someone already knows.
