was a little worried after I ran out of my old "real stuff" Rodinal... but R09 is just as good as the ol' brew
few from recent show in Zagreb of those lovely and insane Handsome Furs from Montreal. Pentax MZ-S, SMC-M 50/1.4, Neopan400@3200 in R09 1+25, Canon 8400F scan |

Boris in Zagreb on 21.07.2010. great band from Japan, great show. sadly, this development was with last drops of Rodinal I had in my stash.
shot with Pentax MZ-S, SMC-M 50/1.4, Neopan400@3200, Rodinal 1+25, Canon 8400F scan
just a quick question guys and gals: is R09 any good? can it substitute the "real thing"?

thank you, I must admit I was very surprised by the results with Neopan as I'm used to do concerts with Ilford stuff only. regarding Rodinal, last year I was out of Microphen for pushing, so I stumbled across some recepies for pushing the material in Rodinal, and never looked back since.
no problem, Todd: 1+25 for 27 min@20°C, agitation whole first minute, after that 5 inversions every minute (I did that till 17 minutes into developing, from there agitation was every other minute).

thnx, jgredline. this was my first concert shooting with Tak, and it proved a little bit more difficult than with M lens that I preffered to use, but due to the stiff focusing (some time ago camera landed on the floor full faced with lens), it had to sit this one out.

thnx, they're my favorite too. the gig was fantastic, my ears are still ringing as I had to stand in front of the big speakers in order to get those photos. felt every bass drum kick in my chest :D

my old faithful M 50/1.4 is slowly giving up on me (really stiff to focus to infinity after it fell face up to the ground from chair - if it wasn't for the filter which got badly banged, I think the whole lens would suffer more), so I was thinking about if one of these 55/1.2 would be worth to fill its place? which one do you recommend? Revuenon or Porst? I shoot only film.

@ csoars, agnostic, jgredline... thank you. csoars, no I did not share the photos with the band, but after visiting their web site and the fact that it was last updated in 2007., I will send few of them for "refreshing" if they would do me the honor to put them on their site :)

thank you, I was also pretty surprised. at first, badly; because of the pictures that were taken outside did not came as good as I usually get with HP5+, but indoor photos are just what I was hoping for.
wow, 9 years old and taking photos with LX? this kid knows what's good :D

ajuett, like that MZ5n/FG grip/SMC-M 50 1.4/yellow filter combo very much. had identical setup, and I was really satisfied with it. until the body decided to give up just before one concert (shutter would not fire anymore) about year ago. I replaced it with MZ-S, but still miss the real wheels on modern body...

here it is. first color film, cheapo Fantasia 200 from Drogerie Markt. shot with Pentax MZ-S, SMC-M 50/1.4, lab developed (disaster, it is almost entirely impossible to find decent c-41 lab here that doesn't leave marks on film), scaned on Canon 8400F
ok, next on "menu" are slides. some Provia 400F 120 waiting in fridge...

sorry for bringing this thread up, but I have similar problem on my latest purchase - Spotmatic II. after spending few hours thinking what to do with jammed battery door, I came across this thread. is it possible to change the battery if the base plate is removed?

saw it yesterday, it opened in theaters here in Croatia. beyound belief - depends waht you believe in best of all of them - wouldn't go so far... but it's fully action packed, more than all previous combined probably best sci-fi movie of all time - definetly not
but it is good.
