Thank you very much! The Cinelux projectors from the '80's and '90's are some of my favorite lenses for picture-taking, even though they were never designed for that purpose. They have a special look to them, sharp but still whimsical and colorful. I've spent a lot of time using shorter focal length versions on a full-frame Sony. Longer focal lengths have a large enough image circle to cover medium-format, but are usually priced far higher than I'd want to pay for something that still needs a lot of work before you can actually use it on a camera. I finally found one at a price I liked last year, and took it on vacation with me that summer with the adapter I designed and printed.
A couple more from that trip.
I take it to the dog park sometimes, too. On Sunday morning, we had light rain and sun at the same time. The lens really shines in magical light situations like that. |

Paul, from what I see, you also found the way to the fountain of youth.

Yes, that is so. But I find that sometimes I need more correction than the lens itself will allow in a given situation. For example, the picture posted above in message #20308 was so tight that getting things perfectly straight would have required maybe 16mm of shift upwards. The max. the lens allows is 12mm, and quality falls off after about 10mm. So sometimes I will shift upward to the max. that the lens allows, then make the final parts of the adjustment in post. This gives a much better result than doing it all in post. ---------- Post added 02-29-24 at 09:58 PM ---------- This time, it's Barrowby Church (a village a couple of miles away from Grantham, where the larger church is - posted above).
GFX100S with Laowa 15mm lens and 10mm shift.
N.B. After taking this, I put my drone up and took some moody images of the church through the thicker, swirling fog. But obviously I can't post them on this forum! The wider collection, in case anyone's interested, is here: Barrowby Church | Flickr
