Dear all, I am new here in the forum since I have a problem with my Pentax MX1, which I bought two years ago (to substitute a Canon G11) and have been using with great pleasure.
Here my troubles: A couple of weeks ago the camera simply did not fully extend the lens when I pushed the starting button and there occured a message on the screen, saying that the lens cap should be removed. Although the lens cap was removed already the camera refused to work and switched off (did not start) . Some days I played around (accu in and out, flash card in and out, cleaning lens....) and suddenly it worked again. Now, two weeks later the same thing happend again and there is no way to convince the camera that the lens cap is removed alrready and that the camera should start working.
I like tha camera very much but I am a bit disappointed. The camera was bought because I made some bad experience with some point and shot cameras of other brands and expected a long lasting product with the pentax.
Is there any similar experience somewhere?
Any recommendation what could help?
Sorry for my bad English, I am writing from a german speaking country, where Pentax cameras are not that wide spread. And I´m not used to talk and write in English anymore.
