I recently acquired 2 GXR bodies an an A12 mount. I have two fully charged aftermarket (Kastar) batteries and formatted SD card.
Problem is the shutter buttons on both bodies are stuck...can't take a pic.
The live view works and the VF-2 viewfinder works when the mount is attached, but I can't take a pic. Same problem with both bodies.
I was hoping to find someone in the Sarasota Florida area who has a working GXR body that I could test my A12 mount on.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Pentax K2000 that doesn't work, but the focusing screen looks perfect.
Not sure if the screen will fit in your camera.
Perhaps some of the knowledgeable guys here would know.
I'd sell the whole camera as is for parts.
Let me know if you're interested.

Try holding Alt key and type the number 156 using the numeric pad on your keyboard. When you release Alt, the symbol will appear. NumLock must be enabled

There is a crack on the outer corner of the plastic cover of the viewfinder (see pic). Viewfinder is still very useable.
With strap and piece to start mid-roll rewind and open battery door
Operating Manual included...cover and first page torn, but inside pages are all good.
Takes one CR123A battery (included). Battery chamber clean...no corrosion
Made in Japan by Asahi Opt. Co.
