Thanks for the response!
From what I'm reading you may have solved my problem. It seems like close ups with autofocus go well, but a once the subject it more than 3 or more yards away the focus point is totally random. It'll lock on the subjects hand or a logo on their shirt.

I began shooting with a K-50 a little over a year ago. In that time I've been using mostly manual lenses. The A-50mm 1.4 is by far my favorite with the A-28mm 2.8 being a close second. I've used the 35mm limited macro lens but found it hard to get the same sharpness and quality. Is there any Pentax-M or Pentax-A lenses aside from the ones I have that are worth checking out? Perhaps some pointers on why I'm not nailing my shots with an autofocus lens? I shoot mostly portrait shots.

I have a Pentax K 24mm 2.8 lens that suffers from separation. I spoke with a forum member about it and its really not worth the price of getting it cemented. Could this lens be used for anything useful aside from being a paperweight at this point?

Because of this thread (more specifically Todd) I bought a 70-210. Can wait to take her out.

Hey everyone,
Ive been visiting this forum for a long time, but finally decided to make an account. I recently purchased a K-50 and Q7 and have been obsessed with them. I shoot mostly pictures of my infant son and try to get some nice country landscape shots.
