Well, Pentax never was, I mean in the digital era, a source for big audiences. With or without the EVF, right?
I think that EVF sales would be much higher because more or less everybody already got OVF. It should be a joy for everyone at least here, don't you think? But yeah, I got your point that marketing rules the world.

Why not? I can't give you a guarantee I wouldn't buy K mount with EVF, despite the fact I already have two DSLRs, EVF has is own advantages. All sorts of information can be shown in EVF as an overlay, histogram, instant exposure preview, more autofocus points and etc... I can live with what I have, really, it's more than enough for my style of photography, but some people may desperately need these features!

I thought it was technilogy achievment rather than marketing to develip a new mount because no more need in mirror/meter assembly. Pentax said no to this, but I spent $1.5k this Christmas for their shiny lens anyway. I think Pentax needs to just improve a little bit, releasing new things frequently.

I don't undetstand why the size of the body is so important? I see many mirrorless bodies being as big as K1. The system without a pentaprism is another thing and yes, I'd like to see K-01 mk 2 with decent auto focus etc... that would be just fantastic. No need to change entire lens line up this way, why not?

Thanks a lot!
I've installed my Hoya filter as soon as unpacked the lens and did some tests, including sharpness tests. I didn't do comparison with/without because the results were so good this just makes no sense. One thing is very interesting though, how this will affect contrast and flares?
Happy new year to all!!!

Have to try that, actually polarizer is also very handy against reflections on the ground, water surface etc...

That's actually why I bought it, although it can be perfectly used in streets and be as a great landscape lens, versatile despite being fixed. ---------- Post added 12-29-23 at 21:10 ----------
Yeah, someone said that Pentax did this to prevent it being used in other systems.

The Tamron is lighter, I don't know if 250g will be deal breaker for anyone but it's also not weather-resistant as far as I remember. Anyway, I've seen only positive reviews about this lens.

hey thanks! I'm sure that's a temporary thing! Silver one is nicer indeed, it's just all my gear is in black.
Btw, anyone miss an aperture ring while using this lens?

agree.
$70 is not bad for what you are saying. I've seen asking way more for that.
Use filters folks, our hobby automatically becomes more interesting :)

Yeah, I use Hoya, but I can't really say I'm losing something because of my choice. Both of them are good brands but kill me I don't understand how the type of coatings applied can be the reason for price difference between $20 and $250?

Recently got D FA 21mm, I can't say by any means that it's a heavy lens.

Antistatic versions are more expensive as long as I know, right? any significant difference? also more effective against water as I know.

Look what Santa gave me ❤️
Putting this Hoya filter was just a horrible experience :/ I knew that because of the permanently attached lens hood, requiring a filter made out of a thin ring, but man, this was hard. Putting it in place second time was much easier though. Filter haters - forgive me :)
Anyone else using filters on this beauty?

then K3 is just satisfying your photography style, not the fact that it's smaller and more compact than K1. My K3 with DFA* 70-200 is much heavier than my K1 with DFA* 50mm :)

Full frame will always have its advantages, always. like bigger telescopes can see stars more detailed.
