Because we can't be trusted by our Guberment down here in Australia to own or use any calibre above .38 without special restrictive licensing  I'll never get the chance to pass on one.

The Thompson Contender would be one of your most popular competion pistols out to & beyond 200 yds

These particular pistols use most centrefire rifle calibres, & use both open sights & scopes for hunting.

Don't have one, but its one on my future shopping list. ;)

Its called the tall poppy syndrome here in Australia.

As soon as someone/anyone climbs their way to the top, they have to be cut back down to us common folks level.

Much the same thoughts as magkelly, most Canikon owners I know bought because it was a Canikon & was the only name they knew & surprised to find a Pentax when examining mine. :D

I laugh when I think of riding my bike home from my schools Army Cadet training day with my issued Lee Enfield .303 slung over my shoulder for the W/End training bivouac. :p

Definitely arrest material with todays nanny Australia.

Just jump in quickly until Anniebell gets back to you regarding the fence.

No, the dingo's are not a marsupial, migrated here many thousands of years back from our Northern neighbors.

Another avid shooter & reloader here, even with our now restrictive gun laws here in Oz.

Bought my first auto .22 rifle when just a 13 yr old from money earned from my paper run.

This was 5 yrs before purchasing my first camera. lol

Mainly compete in the pistol comps these days & reload & cast for both.

Not the country I was born in anymore, where as a kid I could be trusted to jump the back fence & bring home a couple of bunny's for Sundays dinner. LOL

As the max calibre allowed here is .38, have:

Browning GP HP 9mm
S&W 686 .357
Taurus model 86 .38
Hammerli .22 & .32
Browning Buckmark .22
& Mauser 243 with double set triggers for our Sambar deer.

Reload with a Hornady progressive & RCBS rockchucker.

Cast with a Lee 20-4 & numerous brand moulds.

All athletes, where ever their place in the evolution of man excel in many different sports & endeavors than some of their counterparts.

Just the different way nature designed some of us I guess.
