When you use a blower hold the camera so that the dust can fall out, so lens mount down.

Maybe its your sensor that needs to be cleaned, not your lens.

The filter goes into the mirror box. Fits all lenses

It will depend what you want to shoot. In winter in example the Orion is visible, however, no Milky way. So different objects have different seasons.

@Balckwing 1: I guess the same can happen to the USB port: heavy usage, plugging in and out a cable, might break it.

May be the lens contact is slightly bent? happens apparently easily when not careful mounting the lens. the two square contacts.

They may just use an old product photo. It still says "Hoya". I ordered at least two from them without any problem.

If I am setting the "whitebalance", changing the "temp" to some K value, I can take a picture, review the picture and see the set "kelvin", in example 5000 after hitting the info button.
Is this what you look for?

Hit the menu button. Select the playback sub menu and go to "Image rotation". Play with the corresponding options until you get the right orientation. I could manage to get one of mine up-side down as you described, depending on the appropriate settings. Good luck
