Thanks Steve, I've since fixed it. Just warmed it up a touch slowly by the heater and then gently pushed the mirror back into the place. It is now functioning and focusing perfectly.

Hi there,
I have a Cosina ct1ex body (example img attached below).
I'm trying to find a 50 prime for it. My Pentax-m 50's and a 28mm stop the mirror, and my Pentax-a 50 stops the mirror when focused at infinity until down to 10 meters, otherwise it's fine.
Just wondering if anybody knows which mount I need? Really like this body it is super light, great size + fully mechanical with a shutter up to 2000.
There is a ton of information and manuals on a lot of ct-1 variations but finding anything on the ct1ex is proving difficult.
It is basically a Ct1 Super without the self timer, and slightly different styling - does anyone own a ct-1 super and use any M or A lenses with it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. ---------- Post added 06-03-16 at 12:17 AM ---------- I think it's a slipped mirror. This thread got me thinking 'weird mirror issue' and a helpful response via youtube confirmed that M and A lenses should work with this body.
Will add here for future reference. "It has a standard Pentax K mount which should be compatible with all Pentax-M lenses (PK and PK-a but can't use the auto aperture funktion on PK-a). I have used this camera with a Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 without any problems. Have used the Cosina CT-1A a bit more and with more lenses without any problems and its a very similar camera. I have another camera where the mirror have not been glued in place as it should and has the same problem you have. This camera cannot use its own kit lens it was soled with at infinity and I my first guess would be that you have a similar problem." |
