I am wondering if there is any way to lubricate the zooming mechanism of a Pentax PLM 55-300 Zoom. I had not used the lens for a while and it is a bit juddery when I am zooming. The smooth action has gone. Not a problem most of the time but it is annoying. I sort of doubt if there is a user solution given the lenses are so well weatherproofed but would be pleased to hear of any solutions.

Damaged K3 - Camera was knocked off tripod with Sigma telephoto lens attached. Lens hit floor (still works fine) but pulled out the mounting ring from the camera. Body cracked at rear top right at corner of LCD display. Electronics - menu options etc appear to still be fine. Mirror moves up on live view.
Yours just for $25 USD plus shipping - likely somewhere in the $25 USD range depending on where you live. Will ship in original box with strap and loose mounting ring parts.

Thanks for all the comments. I know I had not set the camera specifically for the shot but I did not know how long the rainbow would last. I took the couple of quick shots and saw no rainbow so I just ditched it an went for the iPhone. I needed that to get the full rainbow in pano mode anyway. Time to learn more about the camera!

Tried taking a photo of a glorious rainbow with my KP and the Pentax 12-24 mm wide angle. Just the UV filter on the lens. All I got was shades of grey (with a hint of colour) for the rainbow. Had to get out my iPhone X to take take the shots. What's the problem? - love to know.

Hi, I have a K-3 that was knocked over on a tripos. The lens mount part of the camera was damaged but the rest of the camera is OK. I replaced it with a KP.
