No I don't have a lens yet.
Reset & shutter button does nothing. I didn't expect the reset button to help anyway because like desertscape wrote: The mirror is already down all the timein my case ...

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that is what I did.

This one has a reset button on the front under the "6x7" lettering but no lever for MLU.

The winding lever cannot be advanced when it is not in "dry fire mode" either. From what I understand it should be possible to move the winding lever freely when there is no film inside shouln't it?

Hello everybody :)

after quite some time casting an eye on a 6x7/67 I bought a 6x7 body from overseas for what I conisidered quite a good price.
I got it in the mail today and from what I understand it looks like an early model with the silver lens release switch and no MLU. First thing I did was reading the manual and put in a fresh battery (measured the voltage and works fine in my Mamiya 645 bodies). Did a battery check and the LED lights up just like it should.

I followed the instructions to get it to dry fire by setting the exposure counter to 1 or more while having the back open. Now here is the problem:
I cannot advance the winding lever. It is not completely stuck; I can get my thumb behind it but not more and I know enough about cameras not to force it. It feels as if it has already been advanced/cocked and maybe it is but when I push the shutter button nothing happens (I know about the shutter lock). From what I read in the manual the winding lever should also spin freely when the camera is not in "dry fire mode" but it does not.
The mirror is down and the shutter closed. They look fine from what I see. I also tried the small reset button but no reaction either.

I already googled for hours but couldn't find a case like this. Most of the issues with the 6x7/67 shutter and mirror mechanisms seem to be related with the internal solenoids and the mirror hangs when it's up or problems only occur at certain speeds. I can't get the mirror to move at all.

It would be really great if I could get any input or some thoughts on this issue. Obviously my timeframe for this is limited and if I don't get it to work I have to try to send it back in time with all the hassle (considerable overseas shipping & taxes plus hope that the seller is not reluctant).:(
