36 years with Pentax; now with a K3

Started with Pentax equipment (an MX) before spending 2 years in Africa, doing a lot of wildlife photography. Added an ME super during the 80's.
This equipment served me well in travels throughout the world until 1993 when I went digital with CANON (POWERSHOT S50). Returned to Pentax in 2006 with a K10D - happy to use all my old lenses again - like reuniting with old friends. Last month I bought a K3 body and am climbing the learning curve. But so far, everything is beyond wonderful as I marvel at the control, versatility and quality of images. This is a great camera. Interestingly, even though I have 2 autofocus lenses: the 18-55mm 1:3.5 - 5.6 kit lens that came with the K10D, and the Pentax 50-200 DA 1:4 - 5.6 ED, I use my old manual lenses most of the time - they are faster and produce extremely sharp images. I also use two zooms from the 80's: a SIGMA, and a 1:2.8-4 35-70mm and a Tamron 1:4.5 85-210mm macro - b oth great lenses. I'd still like a fast telphoto prime lens, mainly for bird photography but the $$$ are an obstacle.

Anti-shake not available?

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to be sure the "no antishake" in remote mode was normal, since the first time it threw me for a surprise.
Thanks also for the tip about setting up usermodes for telephoto, wide angle, etc. Veryy useful.

I discovered on my K3 that when the shutter is set to operate on remote (infrared), antishake is turned off and can't be turned on Is this normal?. This is not a problem, since with remote the camera is normally mounted on a tripod. But sometimes I have set the shutter to remote and forget to reset it for normal use (which of course still works). Next time, antishake is gone. The first time this happened it threw me and it took about a half hour to discover the cause as there doesn't seem to be anything about this in the manual.
