Clearly this picture is meant to evoke a yearning feeling. Also, what on earth are those things? Probably feathers...

Please don't remove prices when items are sold (as per market place guidelines).
Note: I'm definitely not a moderator and I'm pretty sure the guideline is a suggestion only.

What are you referring to in particular? The black speck? Someone else (dcshooter) mentioned in PM that it looked more like a speck of paint or plastic that's worn off and worked its way onto the lens - I'm willing to bet he's right given he services lenses regularly, but no idea myself. :)

Good to know! Sounds like everything is fine... Haven't noticed any significant flaring. The random white flake is still odd, but seemingly no big deal. Thanks for all of the help everyone!

Top blotch could definitely be plastic. No noticeable grinding, just some very slight resistance at 135mm when zooming in, but perhaps that explains things? I don't notice it when zooming back out.

Yes, the flake had me a bit surprised - I had seriously wondered how I missed it and then it was gone just as fast. I added an image above along with further details. The "spokes" on the larger black speck have me slightly worried...
I suppose "focusing element" may be inaccurate, but when I turn the focus ring, these particular things turn with it. Zooming does not change their depth relative to the rear element.

I've purchased a used DA* 60-250mm which is doing a fine job with pictures, but has some rather odd "dust" on the focusing element. It's nothing that I expect to affect picture quality even remotely, BUT:
1) These lenses are supposed to be dust sealed, so is this a sign that the weather sealing is fubar?
2) One of the two debris is pure white and squiggly, almost like a hair, but clearly not a hair (super magnified it has a split on the end). The other is much darker and a little fuzzy around the edges. Neither really looks like dust - doubt it would be fungus?
3) A "larger" (relatively) white flake appeared on the focusing element out of nowhere. It actually came off by just clicking the focusing ring back and forth. Makes me wonder what else is in there...
That said, I imagine I'm probably worried about nothing, but I *can* return it for a few more weeks if it seems wise. Has anyone else had experience with this lens and can comment as to how ridiculous I am (or am not) being? I can get a picture of the strange squiggly bit tomorrow... Edit: I've added an image. Larger dark speck focused as well as I could, "squiggly" bit is in the upper left. As far as scale goes, the other tiny specks are more what I was expecting to see...

I just purchased a Bower 8mm fisheye, though do not have it yet. My latest acquired possession would be a Pentax-A SMC 50mm f/1.4... which I'm definitely enjoying!
I'm also new here (and to DSLR photography!) and really just posting here so I can contact a seller who is apparently an admin... ha.
