I have found a copy of the instruction manual online.
The flash has a switch to set it to a particular make of camera one of which is Pentax.
It lists it as suitable for the the following Pentax models MV, MG, ME-Super. ME-F, LX Super Program. Program Plus.

Looking at the listing it gives the following
Auto 2000 DZ Yes 3V, measured by Ken Kane
So is it safe to use on the Pentax?

I have ist DL2 camera and i have been given a Sunpak Auto 2000 DZ flash.
Will a Sunpak Auto 2000 DZ flash work with a ist DL2 camera?
I think it is compatible but thought I would ask the question rather than wreck the cameras electronics.

TOKINA SD 70-210MM F4-5.6 MACRO ZOOM
I was looking at the above lens in the reviews and noticed an R on the zoom markings.
What is the R for?

I can find KA type lenses for not a lot of money on e-bay, I do not have a problem with manual focus as everything on the old SLR was manual.
The question I have now is:-
What setting should I have on the camera?

Sorry to keep asking silly questions, but dslr is a bit different to the "Kodak Box Brownie" I started out with and the SLR 35mm I had about 20 years ago..
I have attached a couple of pictures am I right that the first one shows the correct contacts for all operations and the other would work as a manual lens.

I have a used Pentax 1st DL2 camera it came with a manual 50mm lens fitted, I was after something to try the auto setting on the camera.
The instruction book says a Pentax F 35-80 1:4-5.6 lens will work with the camera,
I have bought one for not a lot of money on e-bay, but being a beginner not sure how it works.
Is there an instruction book for the lens?

Thanks for the replies and the suggestion.
I did look at the Chinon 28-50mm F3.5-4.5 Lens on the data base, but was a bit confused as it did not say Auto Focus on it.

Hi
I am new to digital photography and have just bought a used Pentax ist DL2 6.1 MP Digital SLR Camera to start, I have spotted this lens on e-bay
AUTO CHINON multi-coated 28-50mm Pentax K-Mount / PK Mount.
Will it work electronically with the above camera?
