Black Mesa State Park and the surrounding area located in the far western Panhandle of Oklahoma has some of the darkest skies in the US. With little to no light pollution, the Milky Way and the night skies are illuminated in ways that most people do not get to enjoy.

Invest in faster cards. I can see how what you are using in conjunction with a K-3 will slow you down.

What cards are you using? I'm using a mix between 45MB/s and 90MB/s and while there are moments when I forget myself and lay on the shutter more than needed, they are more than adequate and they don't prevent me from missing shots.

I picked up a Tamron 70-200 just a few weeks ago and broke it in on a football game. Although I read some reviews about the AF being slow, and even one reviewer stating there was no way it could do sports, it performed just fine for me. One thing I did come across was to change the AF C priority from Focus Priority to FPS Priority. Now I have been shooting my K-5II for a couple of years now and had never come across that tidbit and in the past never had a problem. I changed it and it seemed a little bit better. I use BBF and I ride it when shooting.
All in all, I'm happy with the lens and would recommend it.
