Hi! I'll start off by saying my old ME Super fell off a table and broke, and I got a new one from Ebay, and the only problem with it is the fake leather (or whatever it is) is falling off. The reason I got it is because it was a steal of a deal at $35 (good deal to me at least) with free shipping. I checked out cameraleather.com, but all of the links that they have are down- it says 404 Not Found on every single link I click on. And someone else got scammed on there, sooooo... yeah. I checked out Aki-Asahi.com, and the most similar camera to the ME Super I could find was the K1000. Is there any chance that the K1000 skin could be the same layout/ cutout of the ME Super? And I'm not good with tracing around stuff, so I can't really do it myself. Any help is helpful ;)

Well, after maybe 3 days I have to wind it about 4-12 times, it used to be 7-9 times before I just decided to wind it a bunch of times, and take pictures whenever it was ready, and I was thinking about taking the bottom plate of and cleaning it, but I need to find the right screwdriver for those teeny-tiny screws, then I need to put them somewhere where the kitten won't play with them... i'll try spraying carbureter in there, I just have to find it :) ---------- Post added 10-26-15 at 12:08 AM ---------- I will try stuff on mine, but that's very helpful of you, thanks :) ---------- Post added 10-26-15 at 12:14 AM ----------
Thanks, just fixed the other stuck mirror it had :) (I guess hitting it on the sidewalk doesn't work always) all I did was push the shutter down lightly, and POOF, it comes down... accept the film advancer didn't get fixed, but that's a problem for Kurt's Camera Repair to fix...

This is a project that I've been thinking about for a long time... a digital back for Pentax ME Super! I will start this project soon, maybe around Chrismas time. What I'm thinking of is taking apart a cheap 20.1MP point-and-shoot, then getting another back and modify it, or just jam all the stuff in the camera. Once I make a website for this project, I will put a countdown to when I will do it, than start progress updates. This is a big project for me... I need to do some research, then when I think I'm educated enough, I will try. I need to draw plans, and look at the camera and see what I need to do, where I am going to put all the stuff, things like that. Of course, it'll probably never hit the market, but it's worth a shot. I will try to put the link up... if it lets me. Hope me good luck, and also keep on shooting :)
UPDATE OF 10/26/2015: Well, I started. Sorry for not telling you. But, I took apart the P&S (got shocked by the darn flash capacitor), and the ME Super was sitting on my work table. I left the strap hanging off the side, then my cat came in. I tried to get him out, but I tripped over the strap, and the poor ME Super took a hard fall on the ground 4 feet below. The lens is useless, it's cracked. The ME Super, well... that poor thing is now a display item, the mirror broken off it's hinges (or whatever you call them), the film advancer stuck, and the shutter looks bent. I took off the bottom, and I saw little gears and just parts everywhere.

Hi! I have a Pentax ME Super than my grandpa gave me, and I fixed the stuck mirror that it had by lightly pushing the shutter, but now I have to advance the film 7, 8 or even 9 times before I can take a picture! I want to take pictures with this beautiful- looking camera, but I also don't want to waste film :) Any help is very helpful

Hi, I have a Pentax ME Super, and the mirror was locked up but I fixed that. But now, I have to wind the film advancer 7, 8 or even 9 times before it actually takes the picture. I really want to take pictures with this beautiful looking camera, but I don't want to waste 7, 8 or 9 exposures, too :)
