At least in the US, Sigma is offering a mount conversion service. This means you can change the mount from any Nikon or Canon mount Sigma Art lens to Pentax K. Not sure if this service is available outside the US. Also not sure how much Sigma charges for this service. Is there anyone here who has experience with this service?

I really wish the road map were more explicit about the specification and timing of these future lenses.

I hope you are right. I was very much hoping for some prime lenses for Photokina. I am not a zoom guy.

Would someone be so nice to post the Australian RRP here? I just spent 15 minutes on CR Kennedy's home page but I can't seem to find this information. Thanks.

How many film camera systems do you own?

I use Hama ProSlide AV 6x7 mounts. I think they are discontinued but I bought a lifetime supply years ago. I store the mounted slides in Kunze Journal 6x7 boxes. Again, I bought a lifetime supply years ago. But they still seem to be available.

Congratulations, a 6x7 slide show is hard to beat! Using a 6x7 projector myself.

---------- Post added 11-08-15 at 03:54 AM ----------

I have three film camera systems in regular use:
1) Linhof Technika Studienkamera 70 6x9, used with 6x7 roll film back and a 100mm f/5.6 Schneider-Kreuznach Symmar-S
2) Pentax 67II with five Pentax lenses and a Schneider-Kreuznach M-Componon 80mm f/4.0 for macro work
3) Leica MP (2x) with five Leica lenses.

Hi Peter,

I live in Melbourne but occasionally explore the area around the city with my 67II kit. There is an active group of analog users in Melbourne on APUG who sometimes meet for some joint excursions. Among others, we also spent a weekend in Kilcunda. Great place, in particular the timber trestle rail bridge. There are three Pentax 6x7 shooters in this group. It's still a popular camera, for very good reason. I shoot colour slides and still can get them developed within the same day for a reasonable price in Melbourne.

Regards, Jim (who also exposed a roll of 35mm film today in Williamstown)

Hi Gabriele,

I would choose the P67II. Unlike the lenses that come with the P67 package, a P67II is somewhat rare. If you can get one locally, I would go for it. The ones on eBay are all from Japan. Also, I agree with others, the 55mm and 75mm lenses would be too close to each other for my taste.

Regards, Jim

This played a role for my lens selection as well. I ended up with just two filter sizes, 67mm and 82mm (4/45, 2.8/75, 2.9/90, 2.8/185 and 4/300 ED). That's Ok.

Did you end up buying a P67II, Peter? This camera certainly would feel at home on Phillip Island. Have been using mine in your neighbourhood (Kilcunda).

... from Melbourne, Australia.

I have been using Pentax since the introduction of the P67II in 1998. I still use this camera regularly. I shoot Velvia slide film, which - fortunately - still can be developed at reasonable expense and within a one day turnaround time where I live. My slides are projected with a Goetschmann G67 projector on a large DaLite screen. A 6x7 slide show remains an impressive experience in this digital age. I have a number of excellent Pentax 67 lenses: 45mm F4, 75mm F2.8 AL, 90mm F2.8, 165mm F2.8, and 300mm F4.0 ED [IF].

I use the P67II for landscape photography and a small Ricoh GR for everything else. In my opinion, the GR is very underrated in general (probably not in this forum). A fine little camera that can be customised nicely and delivers sufficient picture quality for most purposes.

Regards, Jim
