I am quite certain that everything in the pipeline that isn't an HD FA re-issue will be KAF4.
(Should this be moved to SLR Lenses?)

My personal guess is the next lens we will see is a PLM version of the 50-135 and/or a 35mm prime with modern optics.

Concur-PLM version of 50-135 would be nice. Not sure if this is in the cards, but full frame FA constant F4 zooms would be great for landscape with K1ii.

The answer is a definitive, and very strong "probably." :lol:

I've owned a lot of teleconverters (and still do). I have stacked some of them with acceptable results. But it was hit and miss, stack converter A and converter B with lens L and the results were very poor but converter A and C with lens L were pretty good. That is why I still own about 10 teleconverters and I have notes on what ones work best with what lenses I have in my collection. I must say that the best combinations I have are ones that were made by the same company to be partnered / paired with a particular lens.
I have a 300mm f2.8 lens that is just about perfect with the Pentax Rear Converter-A 1.4-L. I also have a "generic" made in Hong Kong 2X screw mount converter that works perfect with my 200mm SMC Takumar. You just really have to try it out for yourself. And with modern electronic TC I don't know if the camera would even let you take a photo with them stacked. ---------- Post added 10-05-2023 at 04:57 PM ---------- Have you ever tried to photograph a solar eclipse before? If you look on the web you can see several photos that look really "perfect". They are rubbish compared to the real think. If this is your first real eclipse, I would suggest you NOT take time to try and photograph it. Take your time (the few minutes you have) to watch it. I have been taking photos for decades, but I have NEVER seen a photo of any eclipse that compared to seeing it in person. I would say an eclipse it the one thing I have found is impossible to take a good photo of. (Yes your photo may look good to someone who was not there but it in no way compares to what you actually saw).

I was pleased with my outings with the K-S1 in black and white, I was able to modify the black and white preset to my taste and I even got compliments on the pictures I took in family and friend events - sometimes I do B&W just for fun and for a conversational topic :)
But if PP is allowed, my favorite is indeed the K200D. The files are just gorgeous - color or monochrome.
I didn't do a lot of B&W with the K-3 when I had it, I only had it for about a year. But I think it did well - I wasn't too pleased with the K-3 sensor colors and how they behaved in PP or even in its color JPEG profiles, but the luminance data was very nice, it has good clarity and nuance in luminosity, as I remember.

IIRC, the two most common situations were:
1. When I wanted a very compact combo.
2. When I wanted the wider aperture for either lighting conditions, or a shallower DOF.

I too own the G10. I‘d subscribe that it‘s a very nice camera with FF equiv. 28-140mm zoom, has an OVF, a lot of dedicated pro buttons, wheels and superb metal build. Because of it‘s miserable iso performance - usable only up to ISO200 with good IQ IMO, I bought the Pentax K-5 as my first DSLR. :)

You found the key. Always look a bit different — and look as though you have a reason for being where you are doing what you are doing:- In an office or any commercial or residential environment, dress as a workman — and having a tool belt makes it even better;
- In a shop or factory, have on a coat & tie and carry a clipboard (maybe even write some stuff down);
- Outside, wear a safety yellow (or orange) vest and a hardhat.
Crazy as it seems, these visual cues are tickets to pass.
These days I wear my yellow safety vest every time I pick up my camera. No one questions me. In a train yard workers wave to me. Along the roadside, police drive right by. If questioned, my response usually is, "I dunno. They told me to take pictures."
It seems to work every time. :lol:

Certainly not my cup of tea. I tried computer dating once - met a lovely IBM 360, but she was not interested in any outdoor hobbies.

It is arguably a case of The Tragedy of the Commons - where a few selfish people inevitably and ultimately foul up a useful public resource. Back when, I did use a dating service and it worked reasonable well at the time, but I understand they have since become minefields.
Works for extraverts perhaps, but never worked for me. For one thing the activities I liked were not ones that girls usually liked, or if they did they were in a tiny minority. Even where the ratio was more favourable (such as in a camera club), the girls/women seemed to be there only to accompany their husbands or BFs and were in older age groups than me anyway. I drew the line at joining knitting circles.

For weeks I've wanted to post some comparisons between pictures from the D80 and the K10D using the same lens but many things had happened lately.
Here are the first pictures. Both cameras with the Sigma 17-70C, using Silkypix which uses the same color profile for all cameras by default, no editing, straight raw conversion. 1 - Nikon D80 D80_016 by Marcos Baez, on Flickr 2 - Pentax K10D K10D_020 by Marcos Baez, on Flickr
And now the versions with white balance set to Daylight 3 - Nikon D80 Daylight D80_016_Daylight by Marcos Baez, on Flickr 4 - Pentax K10D Daylight K10D_020_Daylight by Marcos Baez, on Flickr
Colors are different even with the same lens and white balance.

K10D with the HD DA 18-50mm. HD coatings and K10D (and I guess CCD in general) are an explosive combination, the colors really jump at you.
On the table you can see some of the photo books I've been printing through the years.

12 Megapixels is heaps. I still use my 14 year old 12 meg Nikon D90, and from that camera have sold framed photos enlarged to A2 size.
