I too tried the X-T10 and didn't like it. However, i loooooveeee my X-E2. It's the perfect street camera. It goes almost everywhere with me on a normal day. I wish I could do that with the K-3 but it's too big. The K-3 only comes out on dedicated photography days.

The X-T2 is a beast. That focus tracking is insane. Not to mention 4k video. And the flip out screen would be awesome for street.

I've been mulling over the idea of selling my K-3 to fund a Fuji XT-2. Everytime I think I should, I take the K-3 out, take some pictures and fall in love again. Yes, I'm having bad gas right now.

Awesome picture. I have a question. I'm wondering if you considered removing the branch on the lower bottom corner?

I like the composition but am a little confused by the lighting. The foreground is in focus but in shadow while the background is the opposite. I wonder if it's possible to do the reverse? I'm no expert though, just my feeling.

First time shooting in very heavy rain. Was soaked through the bone. But it was really fun and nature seemed more alive and energetic.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I really enjoy shooting with Pentax gear. I've never encountered mold myself so this is all new to me. Hopefully I'll never encounter it. Cheers.

Just upgraded from a K-50 to a K-3. Hopefully I am worthy of such a fine camera.

Hi

I got a used 55-300wr recently. Upon close inspection, I found white specks in the lens. I am wondering if it's normal or could be something harmful like mold or fungus. I'm new to photography so hopefully you can educate me. I've attached a picture.

Thanks in advance

Maybe something is wrong with my live view focusing. My focus success is low especially when zooming in and also in low light situations compared to viewfinder mode.

Sorry if i'm hijacking this thread but I have a related question. Does AF work during live view on the k50 or is live view just MF?

I can see where he's coming from. I guess it also depends on what you need to do with your camera. I'm a hobbyist. So I guess I don't feel the need for it....yet. Technology improve so fast that maybe when I do need it next time, it will be more affordable and widespread. Maybe a panasonic gx9. Dual 5 axis. haha.

All of fuji's zooms have OIS right? I'm looking to get either the 50-230 or 55-200. But do you really need OIS on primes? They're so fast.. most of the fujis are f1.4.

So I stumbled upon a great deal I couldn't refuse. Fuji X-e2, 18-55mm, 27mm, crumpler bag, artist and artisan strap and thumb grip, all for around $600. I'm pretty happy with the camera. I'm not sure if it's just me but the lens OIS seems better than the SR of the pentax. But the big advantage is the size. I'm just carrying it around everywhere. In my jacket pocket with the 27mm pancake. I think i'll still keep the k-50. I still enjoy shooting with the pentax. But the fuji is really fun to shoot with.

Some sample pics.

Haha... I guess that could be true partly. I'm finding out that the k50 is too loud for me to operate in a piano recital or a play. I just wanna get something I can blend in, indoors. The other features are a bonus. But I hear what you're saying. I'm not rich, so I have to be selective of my gear and really think about the kinds of shooting I do so I can buy the right tools.

Just got a Sigma 18-250. Decently sharp. I think not as sharp as the 18-135.

So I got a chance to go to the store and try a bunch of cameras today. Here's a summary.

A6000: wasn't feeling it. Wasn't organic. I don't know how to describe it but it felt cold. Like there's no soul. Technical. I know.

Em10 Mark ii: wow small. I have big hands and I just couldn't get a comfortable grip. The dials felt a little flimsy. It was paired with a 14-42 which is a pancake when off. Too small for me.

Em1: had the best grip. Amazing. I think even better than my k50. I'm quite tempted to get it. Weather sealed. Only thing video isn't great for such an expensive camera. Might be too much money but the price could drop eventually.

Xt10: Fuji's system is really foreign to me. Took a good 10 mins to figure out what all the controls mean. But the autofocus seems really quick and I liked the colors on the lcd. Not sure how it translates to computer. The lenses were a lot smaller than Pentax even though they're aps-c.

They didn't have the x-e2, g7 or gx8 unfortunately. The g7 seems like a good value. It's $600 on Amazon and has 4K video. Has a good line up of lenses too. I need to see if there's any shops in my area to see how it handles.

How much is ibis a factor for indoor and night shots?

So I really like shooting with the k50. It just feels natural in the hand. But recently I've discovered that the k50 is not the most convenient camera to take with you on a daily basis. If I'm going to dinner or going to work, the k50 is quite bulky. I do have a 40m xs but I prefer to shoot with my 18-135 or sigma 18-250.

I've been looking around for a daily camera. Narrowed it down to a Fuji X-e2, Olympus e-m1 or Panasonic gx8. I think I'm pretty sure I'll get one of them. They're all pocketable. Even with a zoom, I can easily put them in my messenger bag.

The question is, does the k50 become obsolete? I guess not obsolete but maybe less used? I'm trying to justify keeping 2 systems. In what situations would they both excel in? I have toddlers. Does the k50 outperform in continuos AF?
