No issues with image quality on K3.... but big improvements would be...

1. Wifi.
2. AF/AFC
3. Video (there is zero reason you have to give up completely to Nikon/Canon/Sony)

Purchased a number of items from O.co, no issues and customer service was great. Bought furniture here too for the home and office. One time there were issues, they just refunded the money, did not have to send the items back.

K3 from Amazon Warehouse Deals

Hey all,

So bought and received my K3 that I reluctantly purchased from Amazon "used" under Warehouse Deals.

Was indecisive between the K3 and the K3 II, mainly as I did not know if I would actually use Pixel Shift rather than bracketing or combining multiple shots, and the utility of the Flash vs GPS. When the Warehouse deal came up for in the $500's, even with tax, minus the 5% cash back with Amazon card, bit the bullet.

Camera came yesterday to the office, and picked it up today.

Was very well packaged as Amazon usually does, and wrap over the Pentax box to make it stick to the bottom of the case so the box does not fly around while in transit.

What I received was the body only, in a box from a K3 w/ 18-135 Lens kit.

Everything seemed brand new, unopened, with only the Lens missing. Was quite pleased.

Came home, snapped a few pictures, uploaded to the utility here to check Shutter Count.... took two test photos, and the second photo had a shutter count of 3, meaning it only had 1 shutter activation, and a build date of 4-7-2015. So seems like close to last of the production line for an older model. =)

Snapped a few pictures at home with horrible lighting, will take outside pictures tomorrow. With the Prime 50mm 1.8, will have fun snapping up pictures of our newborn.

Will likely be quite happy with the K3, especially since upgrading from the K100D  which served me well for the last 8 years or so. Will pick up the FF next when I feel the K3 holds me back, and use the K3 as backup.

Really awesome that the few lenses I picked up for the K100D work for the K3. Something to be said for that as you cannot do that easily with Cannon or Nikon. Looking forward to going to my local camera shop and pick up some Pentax lenses for $10 and $20. hehe.

So... moral of the story, if you see a "used" Pentax K3 or K3ii on Amazon warehouse deals, don't be afraid to give it a shot. Worse case, can always return it.

If you are worried about it, that is why we write to both cards at once. =) Raid backup.

If the hassles... pay with Amex. If they break, just file a claim and get your money back instantly.

I don't have a grip with Adorama, I have suspicions. Yes, I joined after lurking for a while, but you might as well look at my posts before being suspicious about my intentions. I am insulted by your quick to judge attitude.

Furthermore, if you bothered reading, I stated I placed a test order for a few items from Adorama to test it myself before deciding if I want to spend camera money there, over spending a few more bucks and buying local or on Amazon, where if I have issues, I know from personal experience, the situation would be resolved.

yes... I even used the forum's affiliate link for the order.

Thanks for the feedback on the flash. =)

Well....

Pentax packages the lens. The business then packages your lens package and anything else and ships it.

If the item comes to me, and the package is damaged, it is more likely than not quite poor packaging on behalf of the shipper, and that worries me. We all know how packages get manhandled by UPS, Fedex and USPS. ( I even have clients who work at UPS and USPS who tell me so).

Cameras and other digital equipment are precise pieces of equipment, and I would expect care when they are handled. To compare to two other industries I am involved with, firearms and precious metals.

When you order optics, from say Optics Planet, or coins from Apmex, they are shipped by USPS or UPS.... and even for a cheap $25 order, the packaging is top notch, almost bullet proof. and the parts you order there are a lot less susceptible to damage.

Yes, I am new here, yes, I have not ordered from Adorama until yesterday.... however I am appalled that so many people here are quick to jump down my throat that I am somehow trying to bring down a business. I am not making up my concerns, I am quoting other people's experiences, all of whom had very real issues, on numerous sites.

I came here rather to ask for people's advice in order to make up my mind if saving a few dollars is worth the potential hassle of...

1. dealing with the process to return or replace something in case of damaged items during shipment, or wrong items sent (seems this is a common complaint from yelp).
2. If I will have issues if I just decide I do not like the camera or what not and want to return it (fees involved, etc.) Since they have a warehouse or return center in NJ, I would be paying taxes as well, so it evens the playing field vs local shops or direct from amazon,

Thanks for the warm welcome.
