K3, that is a wonderful shot; I have one that I captured with my K10D using Bigma. That lens really knows how to reach out and capture the moment. I haven't had an opportunity to capture an action shot with my K3 yet; however, I anticipate that the results will be even better than the K10D. Thanks for the suggestion I will give it a try.

Recently I was in the Santa Barbara area and was on a whale watching boat tour. Seagulls were following the boat. Since the relative speed of the boat and the seagulls was about the same it was like the flying bird was standing still and posing while in flight. Trying to capture the fight of birds can be tricky but when you are both going in the same direction and at the same speed, the end result can be quite interesting and settings become less of an issue and the actual picture content becomes the focal point.

Missile, you mentioned you were interested in photographing hummingbirds; I posted one I took awhile ago with my K10D and Sigma 50-500 zoom "Bigma" which is near the bottom of the thread.

I am looking forward to learning and exchanging information on all aspects of photography. I will have a new K3 which will be arriving Friday 11/13 and I am currently using a K10D. Good luck to all!!
