I will always be true to what looks good to me and at the same time consider what others say. Sometimes what is said opens a door for me and if it doesn't I am glad to have had the opportunity to consider another view. Thanks normhead ---------- Post added 01-06-16 at 02:36 PM ----------
No worry BigMackCam, I like to consider the views and ideas of others as I compare them to my own and I always learn something even if it is to continue as I have been or change, either way it is a win, win situation. :)

Now for some fun - Here are three of my test photos enhanced just a little and it is not an HDR photo enhancing. The contrast is so good on the Pentax 20-40mm Lens that I do not need to do HDR enhancing.

I really like this lens from my first experience so far. Can't wait to do some work that I can spend time with and work photos as the light changes. I want to thank all of you for your advice, encouragement and help. All the comments made me stop and evaluate what I was or needed to do. Thanks again.

BigMackCam the bridge was located in Bogalusa La crossing over the Pear River from Cross Roads Mississippi into Bogalusa . All the other photos were taken in Bogalusa, La. The camera was the K3II and the lens was the 20-40mm all them were ISO 100 and f/11

These are HDR processed in the computer. I like HDR. Smaller apertures are needed. The Azalea is blown. Took these with a limited time, rushed them. Thanks for the comments

Lens Test
Just wanted to share something that exited me! I took my Pentax K3II and my new Pentax DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 ED Limited WR (weather proof) Lens that came in this evening an attached it to my camera and stood in low light and took a photo of a painting on a wall in my house ISO 3200 40mm f/4 1/8 and IT WAS HAND HELD! Look at the detail on the writing in the painting. I am blown away that I hand held this camera at these settings in a room with two Incandescent Light Bulbs in a fixture behind me and slightly above me to my right.
I did no noise reduction processing in this photo - this is cool indeed :) Can't wait to be able to go out and do some photos with this lens. :)

commongrounder, all but the sixth photo was done in computer for processing and all my photos are done in RAW. Looking forward to really getting to know and work with my K3II and believe that I can do all I like to do with my hobby using the two lenses I mentioned above. Anyway, appreciate the conversation and comments and I hope all you folks have a Happy New Year.

Thank you John, these are processed some except the last one. I am very excited about my Pentax camera and lens. I was a Canon guy since 2004 and used until three weeks ago my 20D, 40D and 7D (by the way sold all of them). I never with any of those cameras experienced the consistency of photo after photo being very good to excellent right out of the camera as I have with the K3II and my DA 16-85mm. I used in my film camera days a Ricoh 35mm with a Zeiss f/1.4 50mm lens and that was a real sweet heart of a camera. I truly am looking forward to work also with the HD 20-40mm that will be here the end of next week. I am so glad I made the change. Also, as a plus the Pentax K3II is so much easier to operate getting around the menu and functions than any of the Canon EOS cameras I owned and also much less noise issues which the 7D drove me crazy with especially in low light.

I like my initial results of my K3II and the DA 16-85mm and here are some random shots over the last three weeks. I do like my camera and lens and will be working with the HD 20-40mm the end of next week.
