Thank you so much Blackcloudbrew, this clears everything up... It is basically a broken shutter release on my 645N, and I think it is better to abort mission and don't buy it.
Again thank you for saving me from a very impulsive buy... I'll wait for the next one!

Hello dear Pentax Fans,
I have a question about the combined use of Pentax 645N with Cable Switch F.
Basically: I want to buy this camera + 75mm FA from a not very informed seller, that is very far from me, so I can't test the camera. The camera is in great conditions on the pictures...
I asked for a video about basic use, and the problem is: He sent me a video describing a big problem... the camera doesn't shoot from the Shutter Release on camera... BBBUT,
from the attached Cable Switch F, the camera focus AND shoot.
So my question is: when the Cable Switch F is attached to the body... this automatically disable the shutter release on the body from shooting?? Or with the cable attached, both the "2 release shutter button" should work?
I ask this because I can't convince the seller to send me a video without Cable Switch F!
Thank you very much!

You are right... a really good 24MP Aps-c should be almost "affordable" for most people (me included) but in this case... let's hope for "top notch" build quality with a sealed lens that doesn't suck the dust in!

The K-7 was the first "semi-pro" Pentax that I tried, and what a feeling!
My first Pentax was the K-r, then the K-30 and then the K-S1. I was selling the m42 Pentacon 135mm 15 blades "Bokeh Monster" and one fellow pentaxian called me.
He was nearby, and he wanted to buy the Pentacon. When I saw he had a K-7 I asked If I could try it (he was curious about the K-S1!) and man... what a difference
from my previous cameras! The feeling in the hands was spectacular, and the shutter sound... "buttersmoothamazing"! I wasn't impressed by the files honestly... but I loved the rest.
Almost opposite experience on the other side: the fellow pentaxian loved the K-S1 files... hated the rest! I had to surrender after 2 months: sold the K-S1... bought the K-3...all thanks to the K-7!

God, let's hope this is true... a full frame 36mp Ricoh GR with a 28mm F2.4 with snap focus... and maybe also reasonably priced! (I know, I'm daydreaming!)

+1!
But... with the original... I have to say, maybe a little spot where the label is... just a little "blade" of black... but you really have to look really hard to notice it.
The Alarm job is perfect as it is. I would say nobody would notice any flaws without the game "find the differences". Really good job.

 Hell, if the price is reasonable I would buy it!
(but if I have to be honest... an APS-C "mission-nostalgia"...body almost identical to a Pentax MX but with good video and flippy screen =
perfection for all the Hypster youtube vlogger crowd... ibis + all that heavy metal body = you don't even need electronic stabilization!)

IMHO a super (and "killer") feature to have on a future K-3 III would be a sort of Hybrid OVF a la Fuji X100F.
For those who have tried it, I am sure they will agree... for the others: image an OVF but with a little display (let's say 25% of the total dimension) on the bottom right side...
and you can activate this little window to see in real time what you want: histogram, focus peaking, zebra lines or just the magnified portion around your focus point.
Now, on a mirrorless like X100F it's easy... no mirror in front of the sensor. But put that feature in a K-3... with the amazing OVF that Pentax already offer... for me = simply perfection.
(optimal use = correct focus confirmation when you are in AF... like a "manual Eye-AF"... or an amazing help with manual focusing!)

 Oh ffking if that isn't right!
That EOS move was really revolutionary... after 2 decades of trying to "steal the pro-market" from Nikon... Canon won the battle.
But now, the place are somewhat inverted: Sony is the underdog with the innovations, and Canon is the leader...
and man, the Sony A9 in its own way was sort of a "revolution"... so will Canon try to show the "brute force", or will continue with these baby steps?
I don't know... it sure is exciting to see what the future will be in the industry.

Great topic... so many possible answers!
As somebody already said... not having a camera was the problem!
Usually I try to carry a Minox 35 ML with me... that morning I forgot. On a motorcycle without a backpack, only jacket and wallet, no cellphone either.
Country road, summer afternoon with the sky divided between 50% Sunny and 50% dark clouds on the other side... I stumble in a huge flock of sheep.
First thought: "damn, all this shit on the ground..." Second thought: "I hope that this dogs won't bite me"... Anyway, I am able to pass the flock unharmed,
when 6-700 meters down the road I see this huge wether (aries? Anyway, a huge male sheep) in the middle of the street... alone, eating the grass on the side.
It would have been a great "street" photo... the aries looking at me, the flock far away, the wonderful sky above. He made it to freedom! Very poetic.

My "love" is a black Pentax MX, my first film camera of choice... very slim, dependable and beatiful... but man, I would love a Pentax LX... always searching for the right one, a well maintained and with recent CLA without too much scratch/dents... it's just too hard to find in my country (Italy) and I'm too scared of a sudden death if I buy a very battered model for a good price...

 Literally hundreds of people! (but hell... give me a mirrorless K-1, even a boxy full frame k-01 with ibis, good AF and good video, if well priced (like 1500-1600usd) it'll be mine at day one!)
For the Z6/Z7 "fiasco"... maybe too much teasing?
I mean... come on... "mirrorless reinvented" with what they presented?! Crazy marketing people.

IMHO the problem for Canon full frame mirrorless is the Mount:
- EF is large almost like Nikon Z... but the flange distance of EF Lenses is too long/made for SLR... you'll have a boxy mirrorless if you want to keep the old lenses.
- EF-M is small almost like Sony... so for Full Frame you will have limitations with fast lenses/IBIS etc etc.
- So... create a third mount... large like EF but short flange distance like EF-M... and a new system of lenses? Great, now you have pissed-off almost everybody!
But hey... Canon doesn't seem a company too worried about pissing off the customers... looking at the transition FD-> EOS... it can happen again...

Imho a future mirrorless "K-02" either Aps-c or FF should have addressed a problem: Fast AF, even in low light.
We all know the AF is not the selling point on Pentax Cameras, but even if it's not groundbreaking stuff, the AF in Pentax
it's almost always 2 things: really accurate + good in low light. Now, most mirrorless really slow down in low light.
For fast continuos autofocus there are a lot of mirrorless... but the "Mirrorless with good AF in low light" selection is really small.
So yes... boxy or slim... aps-c or FF, I really hope Pentax will address this issue.

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme by Issey Miyake is my favorite.
But for the everyday occasion (and because I'm cheap) I use CK One. Fresh and simple.

Honestly, I am really in shock at how much the really "basic" weather-proofing of other brands is publicized...
and then you have the amazing tropicalization of Pentax bodies, and really few people know the difference.
When you take in your hands a Pentax K-3 and a Sony A7II... the difference in the "touch&feeling" is simply shocking.

"I am a sucker for the underdog"
This! So much this... but also, I am a sucker for the amazing image quality at a reasonable price and with an amazing sturdiness + IBIS. Really rare combo nowadays!

I agree all the way.
But I have to admit: I am a bit jealous/envious when I see a wonderful portrait shot with a wideangle and 0% of the picture is blurred.
On the photographers copying the painters... funny link to see how this is evolving: insta_repeat on Instagram! Funny little account... with a sad sad message!

Funny now that you mention it: I am in Italy, and to this days I've never seen a Q in real life!
Always wanted to try one... sometimes even bid to buy one... never won an auction, and I haven't got the chance.
From tourist in my area, the most I have seen in the past it's K-30 and K-50. Four or five K-5, and two or three K-S2.
But the most "rock&roll" encounter was a tourist with a Pentax 67 on a tripod (of course!)... I was admiring that
absolute unit of a camera... he recognized the 645n at my neck... but damn, he was an old German, and I speak only Italian and English!

Thank you Phil,
I will remain on "alert mode", but yeah, a few years ago, black KX and black MX in mint conditions were a lot less "rarity" than now!
And to complicate my search there is also a little problem: if you search "Black KX" you'll also view all the Pentax DSLR from 2009, and almost never the film camera!

In my mind I have a "podium" of really "sexy" camera bodies.
A podium usually is 1°-2°-3° position... but in my case I really can't say which one is first, second or third.
They are all fantastic cameras... and only one is Pentax (the only one I still own!)
But man... the other two were really hard to let go... but I just... I simply am not a "rangefinder guy".
