I have a nice collection of Takumar and K mount MF lenses, none of which I've found to require AF fine adjustment on my K-1 to achieve excellent focus EXCEPT one - my K85/1.8. This lens has been CLA'd by a top technician but still requires -10 correction on my K-1 (and K-50). If Pentax provides for -10 in correction I presume that this is within the range of acceptable calibration, however I can't help thinking that this lens could be improved. It's rather inconvenient to have to turn on AF Fine Adjustment whenever I use this lens in order to achieve accurate results with Catch-in Focus, but without it I have to dial back on the focussing about a mm after receiving focus confirmation from the camera or else the focal point of my image (at f/2.8) will be about 1 inch in front of my target. Should I send the lens back to the technician a third time or is this normal and something to be lived with? Incidentally my SMC Takumar 85/1.8 is spot on without need for adjustment, but I can't use Catch-in Focus with Taks (right?). Any advice out there?

I'm resurrecting an old thread as I have a question about these same two lenses. Thanks to LBA and curiosity, I have both of these lenses, as well last the S-M-C Takumar version. All are in excellent shape externally and apparently internally. The M100, however, is quite noticeably sharper with better contrast and resolution than the 105 variants. As in virtually all of the resources I've come across the K105 is said to be the better lens, I wonder whether I should have my K105 checked out, or whether there may be differences in how the lenses perform across circumstances (camera body, lighting, distance). I'm attaching mine to Fuji X-T1 (still trying to figure which Pentax body to get). Any thoughts?

I'm a new member who's been reading and learning here for many months. Thanks to all for helping me to learn about the joys of using Pentax lenses. I'll have to learn the ropes for posting here, but wanted to start off with a big thank you. I've been able to find the answers to so many questions here without ever having to ask. That said I'm sure I'll have questions and comments soon as well as photo posts. It's high time I start to give back for all I've learned here.
