I found the guidelines here very helpful. One small point may be helpful. The drive mode button on the K50 does not allow you to simultaneously set continuous shooting and use of the remote. However, I found - admittedly this may be obvious to others - that the wired remote will still works anyway. Also found it useful to pre-set the remote hold button before plugging in. It has taken a while but I think I am getting there! Many thanks for the advice in this thread.
