Bought myself a digital relic the other day! It’s a Fujifilm S2 Pro DSLR from 2002. It’s based on a Nikon film body and works quite well, love the saturated colours it makes straight out of the camera. Apparently it’s something to do with the old Super-CCD sensor in these types of Fuji’s. Can’t post any photos at the minute though

I would like to recommend the Olympus tg4 (perhaps they have a new one). It got me through Thailand and Cambodia (both very humid areas), and was my main camera throughout my trip to the US. It's capable, however it won't do what a bigger camera can do. Peace of mind for travel though- waterproof, and concealable so it's not attractive to theives. However I would use it in P mode with -0.3 exposure comp, it loves to blow the sky on overcast days

I was recently overseas and I bought a Sony action camera. I think it was actually more useful than the TG4 in the end! Nice shots of the reef. Look out for stonefish!!

Yes, I have to agree with you there.. I took mine overseas and then found I couldn't open my images- but I thought it was my GIMP Photoshop clone. Glad the JPEGs turned out though. Did you find the camera blowing highlights on cloudy days at all? Mine does all the time. Good luck on getting the K-1 by the way... I have recently become entranced by the Sony A7 haha

I might weigh in on this as I recently came back from touristy stuff myself (went to the US for four months-awesome stuff!!) Anyway, I found myself wishing I had a better phone to use, as it's easy to get a quick snap of a cool landscape or whatever, and then post up to whatever social media you are using. So I'm getting a new iPhone. In many cases, my friends' phone snaps were better than my own TG4 pics! Still keeping it though. I should add that I'm currently using a really cheap android phone....

Welcome to the forums! If you're interested in screw mount lenses, make sure you pick up a Helios 44-2! It gives a swirly bokeh effect, and is a short telephoto that focuses quite close on apsc Pentaxes.

Perhaps Pentax should start selling those camouflage sleeves- always the hallmark of a serious camera 😂😂

Hi everyone, just lately my camera has developed the (to put it mildly) annoying trait of the shutter sticking closed when it is cold. If I take the lens off, I can see the shutter is down over the sensor, which is normally exposed. It will take one picture, then lock up. Has anyone else experienced such an issue? It seems fine once I take it into an area with a warmer temperature. Cheers all, happy shooting

I'm in Hawaii for a few days and the first thing I saw was a Japanese tourist with a white Kx or ks2! So far the only one I've seen as I don't have mine with me... Oh how I miss it

I bought a Pentax A3000, a Mamiya-Sekor 1000 and a 50mm f1.4 takumar, which has a tiny bit of fungus in it- which explains why it was at least $80au off what they usually go for. All of these work quite well, especially the Mamiya cos I bought it for $5, as the bloke wanted it out of his store!

Yep, unless animals are used to people they'll be far away by the time you get your camera out.

Depends on how much light you consider "low though- it needs lots of streetlights to make a good photo. I love mine, I have taken it on basically every trip since I got it!

I've got one of those. It's good for holiday type shooting- the f2 lens at the wide end is surprisingly great for night time shots, providing there's a lot of streetlights or whatever. As for the wide lens attachment, I'm afraid it's out of my price range. Have a good day!

I've bought at least three totally terrible zombie lenses! The first one is a Sigma 70-210mms 3.5-5.6 that has got to be one of the originals! It now holds up a model airplane in my room. The second one was a Ricoh 55mms f2- it was horrible for some reason (i think it had fungi in it). I threw it out after trying to take it apart and scratching the elements (it was $10 anyway) . Finally I bought a K 300 f4 and found that the aperture doesn't work! Good times though :-)

I'm fortunate enough to live near both a large estuarine bay and quite a few beaches, some of which are in a National Park. So, I see lots of shore birds such as seagulls and ibis.... Not exactly exciting fare, but good to hone your skills!
