I'm left eyed and left handed.
I try to shoot with both eyes open but I use the right hand by the shutter to help obscure my right eye vision, seems easier for me to concentrate that way.

Thanks for the input everyone, it's on its way back to the seller.
I did some more research and noticed that Sigma has a 4 year warranty and Pentax only has a 1 year warranty, which may play a factor if bad QA is everywhere.
I'll probably decide later since I have some other lenses to play with.

I finally had time to test the Pentax 16-85 which I purchased during the December B&H sale.
My initial impression that it's one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used (though my previous lenses were Canon EF-M 22mm and Panasonic 14mm m4/3 so take that for what it's worth).
I read some of the quality control issues on this forum, and was happy I didn't run into anything obviously wrong. Until one evening, the zoom lens started extending stiffly.
I realized the weather sealing gasket wasn't glued in or attached properly and sliding around, and I saw this happen:
I guess my advice is that this lens is absolutely awesome *IF* you can get a good copy, so buy it somewhere like B&H/Adorama/Amazon with good return policies.
I have a K-S1 so weather sealing is not important to me, maybe I should look into the Sigma 17-50? Though I'll miss the 1mm wide angle :p

I recently purchased a K-S1 recently at a really good price, and now I'm browsing this forum for lens opinions for landscape use. So far the 16-85 is at the top of my list.
This is actually my first mirrored camera, I also own canon EOS M but got tired of them not releasing any new lenses and the horrible focus speed.
The Pentax viewfinder is really nice. I wish they would release a wide angle version of the plastic 35/50mm, I ordered them recently.
