HI Guys n Girls,
I do a lot of large scale panoramas, this one I shot from the Balcony of New Zealand House, you can check it full size on Gigapan here. Be sure to pop it into full screen with the twin arrows and zoom around the skyline to see what you can find.
Here's one I shot from the roof of Portland House in Victoria The View from Victoria
This is another favourite of Tower Bridge and the City Thames View
And finally one shot from Center Point London |

Yes the camera is set up in landscape orientation then shot full left, centre, & full right.
Each section has 5 exposures +/- 2ev 4ev.
Interestingly with this lens, if you shoot 'portrait' then full left, centre, full right, you get a similar field of view as you do with a 14mm lens, but with much higher resolution when completed...
I love using the shift lens, I cant wait to get it on the New K-Full Frame when its released
I use this technique alot for Cityscapes,

This is a 20 shot HDR Panoramic shot.
I'm very fortunate to work sometimes in New Zealand House, which has some of the best views of London.
This was shot from the Penthouse Balcony when my friend came to see the views.

This is a 15 shot HDR panoramic image... Shot using the pentax SMC 28mm f3.5 SHIFT lerns.
The shot is broken down into 3 sections, each of 5 exposures.
The scene was metered and a 'normal exposure' was set for all sections. White balance was set to Incandescent / Tungsten.
EV bracketing was set to +/- 2ev 4ev
Blending and stitching was then done in photoshop

Hi,
I'm currently using a 645z from Ricoh Imaging UK, they have loaned me one for Christmas (they have several loan models for their Pentax Ambassadors to use).
I haven't exceeded the count you ask for however in on 14,972 and it may as well be like new.
Ive got many Pentax cameras, and although I cant answer your question, from personal experience, Pentax are reliable and very good on their warranty repairs and service. I've also got a n old K5 which still produces the goods having survived several riots (photo journalism), dropped in the River Thames (and submerged), having many a beer spilt over it (parties) and has been 'round the clock' close to 7 times now.
I know plenty of Pro-togs who use the 645z and swear by it not only for the files but its durability and reliability.
there is a thread on a different forum that may help you.
