I may be late on this issue, but I recently experienced the same issue on my K50. Unfortunately i faced it after almost 2 years so no warranty or return options available. I have sent it for repair and waiting for the camera. I love this camera but it just sometimes these issues make u feel like if you made good decision or not. I had Cannon and it had condensation issues but it was around 7 years back. I hope i don't encounter the same issue again.

I am using Pentax K50 . I tried manual mode as well but same result.
Not sure what triggered it but all was good before I started using 55-300 new lens.

The focus locks properly but the image is not captured. Everything is very dark ..
I tried to reset the camera to factory setting but no success.

Hi,
I recently bought Pentax HD DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR 55-300mm Zoom Lens for Pentax KAF Cameras and started using it. After a few shots I noticed that none of the other lenses 18-55 and 50-200 not able to shoot photos when I compose photo using View Finder. The same photo can be shoot when i view through lcd view.
Tried dust removal but no luck.
