I'm mostly trying to find something a little more compact. I frequently end up leaving the camera home when we go on hikes with the kids. There is just too much to carry, and the camera becomes one more thing to worry about. It's heavy and bulky. I love my pentax gear, I'm just not using it. I end up taking all my pictures with my phone, and I would prefer a real camera.

I played with my sister's Olympus last year for a bit. With lens attached it was not a tiny camera. Maybe I should just go back to the K3...

I'm a little late to the game here, but going to join the fish eye fun with the Sigma 15mm. I was going to try to sell as I don't use it much. It's been sitting on the shelf a long time. A single in challenge may help me decide if I need to keep it. Also, I have never used it on the K1.

Same thing happened to me with my 16-85 last September. Worst feeling ever! Mine was not repairable. :(

I think I'm in. I'd like to try out some of my m42s on the k3. I rarely use them as I'm usually chasing kids and rely on autofocus for that...

The Easter bunny set the eggs out a little too early last night, and the Easter possum broke into about half the eggs and stole the candy. I wonder how well possums digest chocolate? Well, lesson learned for next year.
Trying to get caught up from the weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone's photos.

I'm going to join in this month too. It's been a while! I couldn't decide what lens to use, but I may as well hop on the fish eye band wagon. I'll be shooting with a Sigma 15mm fisheye

I like your edit, mee, especially the clouds. I'm reluctant to download another editing program at this point, even a free one. I'm just getting to really understand Lightroom and I'm a little nervous trying something else. That said, I am a bit curious. Not sure my 2007 MacBook could handle it though. It can barely handle Lightroom.

Ok, I feel dumb. I didn't realize the Nik software was just a plugin. Just downloaded and installed. Thanks for the tip!

My cats are pretty worthless. I mean, cute and cuddly, but otherwise spend most of their time lounging or demanding to be fed. They do catch an occasional cockroach, and longingly watch the squirrels in the yard. I imagine they wouldn't know what to do with it if they actually got one.

My first attempt at a moon shot. Certainly far from perfect, but I'm ok with the results. Shooting with the k3 and DFA 100mm, my longest lens so it'll have to do. Heavily heavily cropped. Hand held - my tripod was wobbly and I have no remote.

Thanks all. I may be able to replace this under homeowners insurance. Hadn't even thought of that.
There are no loose parts, but there is a wire broken. I imagine that could cause trouble.
I guess I need to look into a repair.

Yep, in half. Long story short, the camera took a fall. Body seems to be working fine, but I think the lens is a goner. Is there any help for this? I'm so bummed! |

My camera and 16-85 lens took a fall too. The lens broke in 2 :(
I am still unsure of whether it can be fixed, but if it can't and you're still looking I'll happily pass the hood on to you.

I'm coming back this month!!! Yay! It's been a long time. The DA 35mm 2.4 arrived here today and I'll be using it on my k20d the next couple days until the k3 arrives. Excited to be back.

My Pentax 16-85mm arrived today! It's going to be hard to keep shooting with the 100mm with this lovely new lens calling to me. I know what I'll be using next month!
