And if you look closer, you'll see that the light is redirected on the water surface by the flock that acts like a mirror or a huge reflector.

Maybe it has something to do with the big area that has to be protected... point and shoot cameras have a minuscule sensor surface. Fuji approach seems to be better. But our approach (trowing the camera in a pocket) not so good. A nice leather small bag/case (like a sheath) tied to the wrist (and eventually temporarily hidden in your jacket pocket ) may be a better habit.

The retracting lens mechanism is a bad idea. A new design must avoid that as there is no sensor protection from that. The need to have a sensor clean service for a sealed compact camera is pure stupidity. Hope you learn your lessons Ricoh and stop wasting people's money. Remember? Japan quality grade!

More likely because of the conversion to sRGB, making it web compatible. It may change the tone of your image.

- keep the same form factor but improve the sealing as no dust must be found on the senzor ever again;
- keep the sharpness of the lens and maybe improve the close-up distance;
- improve the manual focus and add some aids, making the camera a better choice for product and close-up photography;
- provide true film simulations for all Kodak films, otherwise you won't stand a chance against Fuji invasion of the niche (because X70 already gains terrain).
Or ignore my suggestions as these are coming frum a guy who still shoots with a Panasonic P&S camera and a Minolta SR-T 101 film camera.
Or make a new GR line of rangefinders cameras with interchangeable lenses to punish Fuji for invading your territory. Youtu.be |

- Load in GIMP the image you would consider to be the background;
- Import the second image as a new layer;
- Tune the opacity of the layer as you like. or blend the two as you like (you can separately rotate any layer at any degree).
- Eventually, save the project for another time and switch to ArtRage but be careful to preserve the EXIF.

Use film which is mainly, a Fujifilm or Kodak "sensor". Then "scan" the negatives with a Pentax or Ricoh digital camera.

It is ok and answer to my question
Rest assured that those models are a nightmare compared to any manual P&S camera. I would gladly have traded a raw image feature for at least aperture control :).

You bought it based on a photo show, a gallery, which is ok, we all do. But you had to see a gallery of X30 photos as well.
What you said is even more true for the camera you didn't bought.

@grispie, if I show you the bokeh I get from Nikon Coolpix L340 which has a smaller senzor (no manual control) than MX-1, or the photos I do with Panasonic DMC-FS42 which has even a smaller sensor (no manual control), you would buy those too? An X30 would have been an amazing investment, with great 1cm macro along with fantastic film simulations.

Quote: Film era K-mount zoom lenses to potentially fill a gap. Now, this is a problem! Bye-bye the best source of cheap but good FF lenses. When the K-1 will hit the market the advantage over the Nikon F-mount will be lost.
Well, back to the M42 lenses...
Of course, not many of the lenses will pass the test but that won't stop the price increase. And Samyang lenses are the best among "everything manual" breed.
I'm talking from a film user perspective.
