I think about F series.
About a Helios - I have a allergy for this lens. Really. A lots years ago when I have a my first this is my first prime. I have a "better" 44-7 on M42 camera. And really I hated this. Unsharp, poor coating. When I bought a MC Pancolar 50mm I have a one think "Now I'am on a photography heaven" ;) KMZ lenses or other Russian have a big problems with quality. You can have a pair - and one is ultra sharp second is trash.

IgorZ from any 50mm lens. Tessar is a very good macro lens. If you think about a silver finish version, is a small and little.
F 50mm f/1.7 is a fine idea. But in Poland is a one of "rarest" lens for Pentax. Faster you buy a 50mm from A, M or K. And FA. FA f/1.7 is ultra rare I seen a one or two in the last two years. I don't know why  Price isn't a determinant in my opinion.
Pentax K mount, modified for PK or M42.
To K10D and sometimes to my K-3.
She generally can use a manual focus lenses.

Hi.
I think about a condition of 50mm lenses. Novadays "normal" is 35mm focal lenght for APS-C. But a lots of peoples have a few 50mm. For example I have a one Super Tak, three Pentax, two Zeiss Jena and one west Zeiss. But I really don't know which is the best. Therefore I propose to discussions about this problem. Without a pixel clinical comparison. Only with a experiences from normal use.
My number one is a Carl Zeiss Planat t* with f/1.7 (Contax/Yashica) because this is a ultra sharp 50mm, with a fine colors rendering. Good lens for a daily photos.
Number two is Pentax K 50 f/1.4 - glass and metal contruction, specific color, and it is also timeless.
I must a buy a one 50mm for my girlfriend to her camera. Let's start ...
Which lens you choose?
Michal.

Thank for all. Now I must waiting for my parcel to monday... CR I have a 1.3 soft now. When I compare a my shot from CCD (Sony DSC-H50) and CMOS (Sony Cybershot R1) wins a CCD. Colors from CCD is a better for "photo viewer". I think about a sometimes give it a my girlfriend, as a introduction to DSLR. She using a advance level compact.
I heard about a "problems" with ISO in K20D. What make me a wonder.
But about a K10D - Dream is a camera Pentax with monochrome CCD matric like Leica. Without a AA and RGBR filters. ;)

I have a 1.3 firmware, is a good news. About a problems with high ISO i know. But my max ISO on film and digital is 400, I don't know why. Probably because I have a coded in mind 400 is good for reportage ;)

This a copy of Pentacon Six. Really this is a very simple build camera. With a typically problems with doubling a frame and shutter speed. TTL is a horrible, for good metering You must use a second camera or external light meter.
I have this type camera and I using this with a very good Biometar's 80 and 120 f/2.8 and Sonnar 180mm (Carl Zeiss Jena) with PSix mount. This lenses make a good job and better photos.

Hi.
Because Pentax service have my K-3 about a three weeks. PCB problem of course on guarantee. I bought K10D aka GX10. I have a some question about this. What is working with a SDM, good or with problems ? How about a light meter ? Or a legendary qualities are just a legend ? I must mods a thread title from (...) to really good decision ?
Why I bought this ? Because it was a set with a two lens. Probably when I sell this lenses, I have a free camera.
Thanks, Michal.

Hi. I'm looking to K10D and Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 (without stab.) samples. Someone have samples, or can do ? Because this Sigma on K-3 is good, but CMOS matrix is different from CCD.

C200 is good film for fun. But a more interesting proposition is a ISO 400 film's. For BW look to photography from Trix 400 (Kodak). Color film - really good is a Fuji Press 400 (really is a Superia X-tra 400 for professional use). But now Fuji Press is a good memory from film era. Kodak Ektar 100 and Ilford F Pan 50 have a very small grain. You must remember smaller ISO - smaller grain however you must remember about a longer shutter speed. Remedy for this is a tripod or faster lenses.
Generally film have a specific climate, different colors and higher dynamic range than digital.

SMC-F 35-70 is good but for SFXn I prefer a FA lenses. SMC-FA 28-70 f/4 is a better proposition. You can look for 35-105mm F series. I have this lens a once time with K-3. 35-70mm and longer version have a identical optic quality. On K-3 and on film (Z1).

Problem with K-3, main board faulty, make me wonder which is my best set. Really best set. I think about Z-1, SMC-K 35mm f/3.5 and Ektar's 100 or Fuji Press 400. I prefer Fuji because photography from this film have a specific characteristic. Some like a press photography with good characteristic for landscapes. Generaly Fuji Press is a better Superia 400.

Yes, SFX and SFXn have this same grip. I have a SFXn with this grip. For me SFXn is a jest second film body. Price is good, shutter speed is ok. But about a grip. I don't know why Pentax made a camera with 2CR5 battery type camera. For example Ricoh XRX/XRM have a AAA battery... In my opinion generally 2CR5 battery is only photo type battery. I don't know any other electronic with this battery...

I have a hand made powergrip form 4xAA battery. Probably hybrid a original handgrip and MX II grip. This work a very well, and look like original. My grip probably have a connector for AC adapter. But not tested this.

Hi. In my Z-1 I using a split from LX. You can mount focusing screen from (ofc) LX, MX or MZ-M/ZX-M. This work good. I checked metering with Minolta light meter, SFX-n and K-3. With same light, ISO, and lens. Metering work good. AF in my Z1 coincides with a split. Generally this focusing screen have a same thickness.

I have only two 135mm. CZJC Sonnar 135mm f/3.5 and K series 135 with f/2.5.
CZJ is a fine lens because have a very similiar resolution and quality from f/3.5 to end.
SMC-K 135mm f/2.5 - all about this lens has been written.
Generally I have a one question to owner a 135 Sonnar's but from West Germany (f/2.8). This lens is a very similiar to Sonnar from east ? In sharpness, resolution and colors or not ? How about with comp. Sonnar f/2.8 with SMC-K f/2.5 ? Which is better?

M42 bodies - Porst Compact Reflex SP aka Cosina CSR or CSM. One of the best in M42 because have a spot metering, is small. This camera have a one of the best mechanic. But this have a one problem. Switch of DOF and exposure. This switch be blocked with exactly Auto Rikenon 55mm f/1.4 ... Lens for this camera :Super Takumar 50mm 8 elements or SMC Tak 35mm f/3.5
K mount body : Z1 or K2DMD. Z1 have a 1/8000, good metering, AF. But someone say about a power (F**** battery C2...) I have a handmade powergrip with 4xAA battery and focusing screen from LX for MF ;) K2DMD because this camera is a tank ! Lenses : Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y mod for PK) or SMC-K 35mm f/3.5
Film - Extar 100 or Pan-F 50.

Oh, I don't remember about a my super-macro Tak's ... Yes this lens is super sharp but this is a macro = must sharp. But 90% macro lenses is a variation about a Tessar's optic scheme - this must a sharp ! Generally in my opinion sharpness is a one parts from receipt to good photography. In fact some lenses is a superb sharp but colors or bokeh is terrible this equals a poor photo.
@goatsNdonkey I must a found on disk a picts from my comp. But I comp this lenses @2.8 (Planar wins) and @5.6 (one to one with a bit advantage to Planar) But it's only a sharpness. I prefer a creamy bokeh at full opening aperture. About a colors generally I like neutral colors, sometimes warmer (for portrait of course) like a Pancolar's style. But a Pancolars with red MC mark. (I have a two version of Pancolar's : white and red MC in some situation red MC gives warmer colors.) You can look to my reviews of 50mm Pancolar or Planar 50mm f/1.7. (Photos in review is come from white MC.)
