I was told the same by the UK Pentax rep last year, mine must be well past 100k by now :)

I was told directly by Ricoh/Pentax UK that the reason for stopping production was indeed the manufacturer of one of the internals going out of business, they didn't know why they couldn't carry on and make the part themselves, but presumably it was down to economic reasons.

Replacement Cactus V6 ii arrived today, just waiting for the FT16 now :-)
I did try it with the XT16 and receiver dongle, it does sync at certain shutter speeds (only tried at close range), but the power loss is horrible, even at 1/250 - 1/500. I'm expecting some loss through HSS, but hopefully the FT16 will be much better...

Doh! I've just sold my Cactus V6ii as I've not used it since switching to Godox lights from Elinchrom! I'll have to pick up another, would be great to use these with my Z and the 200/360/600's that I have (and love).

For now I'm more interested in getting the Skyport HS to work with just the V6ii, both on camera and using the built in receiver in the Quadra's.
Just need to find someone local that's got a Canon HS trigger to prove its Nikon related, I'm hoping its just a FW update need to the V6ii, it will fire the Quadra's in normal HSS mode but just not sync cleanly beyond 1/80th second.

Following on from this thread that I posted in here and after much experimenting I have HSS on the 645z after buying just one V6ii trigger.
With the V6ii on the 645z, I cant get any sort of HSS to work with the new Skyport HS transmitter (or the Godox X1n for that matter).
However, using my old Skyport speed transmitter, in 'normal' not speed mode, mounted atop of the V6ii I can fire my EL Quadra's directly using the powersync feature (with an adjustment of +10). This works upto around 1/2000th, before the black band appears, but I suspect that may be because of the flash duration of the old Quadra S head I'm using rather than a newer HS head.
Comparing the exposures at various shutter speeds to a Nikon d750 with the Skyport HS fitted directly, they look very similar, so overall I'm pleased, I can still adjust the power of the quadra's remotely and don't have to hook up any additional receivers. I've lost the fancy display of what the power levels are, but I can finally go beyond 1/125th with flash if I need to. Hurrah.
For those that are interested the V6ii settings are - Camera - Pentax, Flash - Nikon, Flash profile - Nikon Auto. I cant get normal HSS to work (it will fire but not sync), but powersync works with an adjustment of around 10. When I change the Flash setting on the V6 to manual, the camera drops out of HSS mode, I'm not sure if this is a bug and causing the problem with the HS transmitter or something that is meant to happen.

So I have picked up a V6ii today, on the settings below the 645z will fire the flash beyond the normal max sync speed, but I can only get a clean sync with it at 1/80th or less. Anything above 1/125th gives a completely black frame.
I've tested the same setup minus the V6ii on a Nikon camera and the HSS works fine and I've updated the firmware on both the V6ii and EL Skyport HS.
Using - 645z, V6ii with EL Skyport HSS mounted on top, Quadra Hybrid strobe.
I've tried various V6ii settings, but was hoping it would be as straightforward as Camera - Pentax, Flash - Nikon, Flash Profile - Nikon Auto.
I'd really appreciate any help, I shoot a lot of location work with the 645z and the quadra's and it would be awesome not to be limited to the 125th sec sync speed.
I do have the Godox Ad360 with HSS and the X1n triggers, I only tried these briefly but couldn't get them to fire at all, but its really the Quadra 's I'm most interested in.

Not been on this forum in a while and VERY excited to see the prospect of HSS with my 645z and godox/elinchrom strobes!
Before I go out and buy a V6ii would someone mind confirming that I can piggyback an EL sky port plus HS or Godox trigger on top of a V6ii on the 645z and HSS will be enabled as if I'm using one of my Nikon cameras?

By chance I picked up a 80-160 last week and had no trouble with the 'apply one' AF fine tune, though it did only need a slight adjustment of -2. Perhaps this is something addressed in the latest firmware?

I purchased mine new a few weeks ago and its pretty sharp wide open, just not at MFD or close to it - it is crazy sharp from 5.6 onwards as you say. Definitely a good alternative to Nikon's 135DC.

I use d750's alongside the 645z, they are small and fast and the controls surprisingly similar with a little customization. I tend to use 25/35/150 on the Pentax with 14-24/58/85 on the Nikon, not the say the new FF isn't going to be amazing, I'll certainly be looking very closely at it.

Getting the 645z files to work with C1 is pretty easy, I have done it by using an exif editor and just changing the camera name. You can do it in batch to a large number of files, though I find that LR with a custom profile is close enough to not have to bother.

They could be using ND's, but I hope not! Thanks for asking the question, be very interested to hear what they say.

Thanks all, loving the 645 and the lenses too. It's going to take me a little while to get used having been with Nikon for so long, but just the colours (skin tone mainly so far) are blowing me away, can't wait o start using it for client shoots, maybe in a couple of weeks or so.

Hello to all, looks like a great forum you have here!
I'm a long time Nikon shooter (d810's, 750's currently) been shooting as a full time pro for just over a decade now.
Couldn't resist the new year offers on the 645z in the UK, picked it up along with the included 55mm and a free 540 flash. Have a150mm and 35mm FA delivered today too. Looking forward to having some fun with this system, seems a lot easier to hand hold and shoot with in general.
