I don't mind the colors, if anything I have to make the images a bit warmer in post but not too bad. The pentax cameras I had tended to lean a bit green so its something I'm used to. I think maybe the JPEGs are soft on my LX100 because its trying to cover up the noise. I'd rather have some noise and a sharp photo than a soft one.

Yeah, I wish they would fix the JPEG engine, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. The edited raw images look very good though.
Here are a few from our recent beach trip: Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr
and the good thing is it is quick and easy to throw it into auto to pass off to others so you can get in some of the family photos Topsail, NC by Kevin Perri, on Flickr

A color edit of one of the photos from my last post on this thread (about 3 pages back). Shot with the LX100.
I do have to say it again, RAW files from this camera are pretty damn good....idk what panasonic did with the JPEG engine but the JPEGs are all very soft, even when turning up the sharpness in the camera. Day at the Park by Kevin Perri, on Flickr
Some more from the same day that I just edited: Window by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Day at the Park by Kevin Perri, on Flickr
and a few from easter: Eli's first Easter by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Eli's first Easter by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Eli's first Easter by Kevin Perri, on Flickr
Even though I'm not impressed by the JPEG output, I am overall impressed with what this sensor can do. Its almost there with some of the aps-c sensors. It will serve its purpose as the family camera.

That's your opinion.
There are many who like EVF's. With an EVF I can have much more info in my viewfinder. With an EVF I can zoom in to make sure my focus is accurate. With an EVF I can have focus peaking in the viewfinder. With an EVF I can actually see image previews without trying to chimp at a washed out LCD screen.
I think this falls more into "I've always used an OVF, even if the EVF has its advantages I'm going to continue to use an OVF because change is scary"
^ on point.

Some from the park, RAW edited in photoshop CC using Nik Silver Efex Pro 4 for that old film look.
The JPEG output from the LX100 is pretty bad, it works if you are just going to edit the pictures on the phone and upload to instagram but otherwise the images are just too soft. It must be a firmware issue as the RAW files are very sharp.
Still love the camera though, great control layout and having the m4/3 sensor in such a small package is nice. Day at the Park by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Day at the Park by Kevin Perri, on Flickr Day at the Park by Kevin Perri, on Flickr

My Panasonic LX100 has mechanical dials and honestly I rather control the aperture from the ring on the lens because my hand is going to be there anyway. Its nice to have definitive clicks when changing aperture. If I' shooting from the VF I don't have to look away because the info is in the viewfinder. That's why I'm not understanding where the issue of the top LCD being gone is such a big deal. If your eye is to the VF the info is all there, if you are shooting live view the info is all there. If you are the shoot from the hip type chances are you are in manual mode and have everything set already for zone focusing.
I guess its just different tastes for different people. I find it refreshing to have direct control when shooting my old film cameras. No need to dive into menus or feel for buttons all over the body. The LX100 brought that to me in digital form and while there are still the rare times I have to dive into a menu for something, it still feels more natural to me.
But judging from the response from people on here just about how the KP looks, I doubt there are very many people wanting mechanical controls. The "pentax is doomed" crowd doesn't seem to like change much. I'm betting most of the people who want a mechanical control layout already have a fuji camera as a second body or have jumped ship entirely.

K-01 | DA70....I really need to use this camera more often. Thinking about making a trip to the blue ridge parkway next month with it and the DA21, DA40 and DA70.
