Yes, some fantastic plastic. These cameras are rock solid and preform flawlessly. The 8008 is a very capable piece of gear.

Yes, the N90s is a great camera. I own a very clean copy minus the data back.

Change is often hard to cope with but cope we must. Once we get over the hump all becomes mormal again until the next big change arrives.

Just my two cents worth.

Nice work. I'm surprised at how laid back the saturation is on this Velvia Chrome.

Strap lug protector for vintage straps?

I have an old Chinon style hippie strap, The strap was built to last. It has real leather strap ends that are riveted to the actual strap, not stitched on. The strap appears to be made of a type of nylon faux looking cloth material that has not degraded a bit. The only issue with the strap is it has faded from years of exposure to the environment, The strap is an early 70's make. Yes, they use to make things to last at one point in time, and my strap is a perfect example. It's pictured in my last post, with the tubing on the clips.

I like the old hippie straps. They are definitely a throw-back to another era. I probably own at least a dozen of the old straps.

What you could try is finding some small diameter rubber tubing, snip it to size and thread it over you metal clips.

Here's one I just did minutes ago to show how easy it is,

K1000 - What's the Appeal?
Posted By spiralcity

In my opinion as a collector the K1000 is overpriced but it's not the cameras' fault.

The market is to blame. Once a seller in the camera collection community sold a K1000 for 200.00, all other seller realized they could mark the camera up and sell it at the same price or higher. It's how the market works. Look at the Vinyl community and the prices of simple albums. Once you prove you can move a product at a set price all sellers jump onboard. The way to counter the prices is for buyers to ignore the product at such prices, but collectors are a special breed, as we seem to want what we want when we want it.

The K1000 is a solid simple camera, but I wouldn't fork out 250.00 for it. Thats just my view as a collector.

Minolta was cleared of intentionally stealing the technology, but they were still hit with a massive settlement. So, all ended well for Honeywell.

Well, this is it in a nutshell:

Honeywell said it disclosed trade secrets to Minolta in 1979 as part of negotiations to put a Honeywell autofocus part in Minolta cameras. Instead of completing the deal, Honeywell said, Minolta took the technology and went off on its own.

My S3 sits on a shelf as a show piece. The camera has shutter issues. I was told 250.00 USD to have it fixed (Kurts Camera). So, I'll leave her sit as she is.
