I updated my camera after I finally realized, with some help from the folks here, that my cards are 16gb... LOL .... it took all of about 15 seconds.... and the smoke is still in my camera...Hurray !!! I've been told you're in trouble when the smoke escapes from your camera (or your pc or any digital equipment... keeping the smoke inside is critical)... LOL

LOL - It's not the first time I've confused my G's with my M's... :) ---------- Post added 08-05-16 at 12:56 PM ----------
My G's and M's always seem to give me trouble... Hahaha... There probably is no such thing as a 16mb card...:)

If you update via a usb cable from a computer to the camera, does it still require a 32 mb card.... I have lots of cards but they're all 16 mb

Driviing the back roads in my very rural community, I saw 2 bald eagles in this tree. One was flying off as I got out of the car. Almost didn't snag him... :) Used a tiny bit of Topaz Clean & Impression on this.

I did not get the extended warranty... of all the cameras I have ever owned since the 1960's, I have never had to get one repaired. I bought the K3II mainly because it seemed pretty bullet proof. Metal body.... weather resistant, etc. Hope I don't regret not getting the extended warranty. My last camera was a Canon T3i and I was always worried about it breaking 'cause it's plastic... LOL :)

Thanks for your thoughts and all the info... I've had no problems since I put the fully charged battery in. I have two Pentax batteries, which may not be enough. They don't last as long as the batteries in my Canon.

I do format with my camera everytime... my Canon had two options: regular format and low level format... my K-3 II does not... I'm assuming it is a regular format

Thanks !! Just cruising this site trying to learn what's what. I actually have a problem with my K-3 II. It's posted somewhere else here. Someone suggested I forward it to certain people. I can't figure out how to forward it....

Hi folks... I've been a photo enthusiast since I won a Kodak camera in 1960 for delivering newspapers. I have accounts at 500PX, ViewBug, Pixoto (I don't visit Pixoto very often), and several other sites that I also rarely visit. I created an account here because I recently sold all of my camera gear (Canon) and bought a K-3 II.

Froze ?? Why ?? Would a low battery cause this?? Here's the time line: I got my camera out and turned it on. I took five pictures. When I tried to turn it off it would not. That's when I noticed the battery indicator. I put in a fully charged battery (I have a spare) and it turns off and on just fine now. Of the 5 pictures I took, there was only one on the card. I don't understand how a low battery would keep the camera from turning off or keep the picture files from getting to the card, when all indications showed the pictures were taken. I do not use auto replay and I never have. I hope I don't regret buying this camera....The serial number is 6216440

I'm at work. I'll get the serial number when I get home. The camera is only a couple of months old & the number is quite a bit higher than what's in all the articles I've read... Thanks for your help 😊

I have been a photography enthusiast for over 50 years but I am brand new to Pentax. I sold all of my Canon equipment and got a new K-3 II. I had not used it for a couple of weeks and when I went out to shoot, I noticed the battery indicator showed very low. The camera would not turn off. I had to take the battery out to power it down. I put a fresh battery in and the problem went away. My camera has a serial number that supposedly is not effected by the K-3 II power off issue. Could this have been caused by having a low battery in the camera for a couple of weeks of non use?
