When I read this initially I thought you were hoping Pentax would introduce lightning.
Hey, that MIOPS system looks pretty cool, and certainly more flexible than a unit that does one or the other.
When you get some time with it I hope you do a review on how you've found it to use. :)

Impressive for such a short exposure! It's hard to say on an image this size but focus I think could be improved a tiny bit to get as much details as possible. Keep us posted!

Lately I've been working on pushing Acros (one of my favourite films) to EI 640. Why, you ask? I have four 100ft rolls of it (rebadged as Legacy Pro 100, man do I wish it was still available) and I recently ran out of my stash of Neopan 400 (rebadged as Legacy Pro 400, man do I wish it was still available as well).
I also have a large stash of Kodak D-76 powder - years ago I bought what a retiring photographer had on hand. It's the kind that came in yellow cans. So, this has led to a willingness to burn some film and developer to see if I could find a workable combo.
After some trial and error, I've settled on EI 640, D-76 3+1 (three parts stock solution, 1 part water) 30 minutes at 20oC. I agitate continuously for the first minute + 10 seconds, and then for the first 10 seconds of every minute thereafter. I am using the twirl stick for agitation in a Patterson tank. The resulting negs are fairly high in contrast, but I'm happy with the results. It's sort of like using a deep red filter, without the filter. If you're willing to work within its limitations, it works.
Scans are jpegs straight out of the Pakon, with no post processing at all.

I class this as just another camera. To me Photography isn't a game. Clients are only interested in results - if you can get the most out of the 645D( Or 645Z), what will this new camera bring to the table? more capital expenditure on something you don't really need?
Big deal, "modern" 50mm lenses have designs that can be traced back past 100 years.

Not been on here for a while, but thought I would share some shots from my recent trip to the Loften Islands with my trusted 645Z...
A full set of images from this trip can be found at: Lofoten Islands - Phil Corley Photography
Mostly shot with the 28-45 Zoom, but a number of the panoramas were shot with the 55 or 75mm and stitched in Lightroom.
All comments welcome....
Phil

This was pretty much along my line of thinking, although I was thinking more of buying the 645z, selling the 645D and 35mm lens and keeping the 55mm. Put the proceeds from selling the D and 35 towards the 28-45mm.
In either case, I'd have to sell my first born to afford the 645z. If anyone's interested, pm me.

K-3 and DA* 200
What's that kerfuffle up there
A little red creature, almost red and white like me.
I can't see them.
Close enough to kiss, or a squirrel with a death wish. She just seems to want to watch.
They've gone back up the tree.
All in day's work. ( Photo by Tess with the Tamron 90 macro.) |

This Sunday I went to the woods to try to photograph birds lens Jupiter-21M 4/200. Birds were so overly cautious, that would allow to approach me on a short distance. The fog is easier to photograph :)

My first ever go at a panoramic at twilight. Had to work quickly with lots of tourists around me (though attendance is limited to 400 on any one night to prevent over crowding) as light changes very quickly. Naturally they all want to shoot the banqueting hall because of its reflections. Had to smile as person after person shooting with a mobile phone used their flashes...fat lot of good it did them!

I chased this waterspout along the coast of Port Macquarie, NSW Australia. The rain made it difficult to shoot at times.
Very cool to watch.
