Battery Depleted, Flashing Light

The memory card is in the battery compartment. It's seated.

Well, disregard. I called RICOH and their support person told me the problem is most likely a capacitor and it's not worth getting it fixed. I've got an SLR so it's no big deal.

We have an Optio E40. It's been awhile since it's been used. I put new batteries (Lithium) and got a Battery Depleted message. I checked the batteries (brand new) and they're fully charged. After removing and replacing the batteries a couple of times, the light flashed different colors then came on green. However, there is no display and the on/off switch won't turn it off. Any suggestions? (Besides get a new camera.)
