So picked up an X-H1 with grip and a Fuji XF 35mm f/1.4 lens.
Still getting to know the camera...first impressions are good.
Analog controls and the premium build/feel on both the lens and camera are fantastic.

To what end? Just seems like a can of worms and the last thing I need is more ad spam.
This forum is perfectly healthy with both active posters and a knowledgeable, helpful user base.
Most Pentax related searches on google take my here with the first few links. Anyone digging around the internet for Pentax will end up here anyway.

Only time I've run into Pentax users in wild is buying or selling Pentax stuff locally. All were really cool and easy to deal with.
Spent more time chatting about Pentax then completing the actual deal...

Been kicking around buying one as lightweight rig for wildlife and snapshots. The J5 with the 20MP BSI produces great images and is dirt cheap. With the N1 300mm CX lens gives an effective 800mm focal length in small package and excellent IQ given the sensor size.
The N1 was a wicked concept, same as the Q, they just needed a little more time to mature. If Nikon released an N1 V4 with a J5 BSI-senor and viewfinder it would have been a homerun and I would have bought in.
Thomas Stirr does some fantastic work with the N1 and wrote a good article about it being discontinued. One Year After Being Discontinued - Small Sensor Photography by Thomas Stirr |

I had both a KS2 and K3 and in the end it was a wash for me. I would have been happy either camera but ended up selling the K3 and keeping the KS2.
The 'pro' feel of the K3 together with more external controls and top screen was nice. Personally tho I liked the size of the KS2 more and prefer 20MP to 24MP sensor....felt I got more keepers with the KS2, but thats prob more my technique then anything to do with either camera.
Tilt screen and the clarity enhancement feature on the KS2 is really nice too. When shooting lots of jpgs ...you get great pictures that need virtually no pp with clarity enchantment. I find I don't miss the top screen at all. Low light focus, IQ, etc are fantastic.
Both cameras are great...sold the K3 because it was easier to sell and because I really liked the KS2 features for my type of shooting. Your milage may vary, both are amazing dslr bodies.

This forum has been a great resource in my (re)search for a DSLR, so I figured I'd sign-up and participate.
I haven't had a dslr for years, my last one was a Nikon d70 (used to be Nikon guy ) and it took me some time to get back up to speed. From what I gathered Pentax seems to be the way to go in terms of fit, finish, legacy glass, durability, bang for the buck , etc., for an entry to mid-level dslr.
I was not impressed with any of the other companies offerings to be honest, they all look and feel the same, my old Nikon d70 felt better then any of the new cameras I've handled, apart from the Pentax.
Still shopping for gently used k30/50 type body and some glass, have a deal in the works, hopefully I can seal it and start sharing some shots and participating.
Cheers!
