I did some tests this week with my K100D Super and everything works well on my side :(
Test 1: same day
- insert AA batteries
- update the date
- remove AA batteries few minutes
- check the date
Test 2: 2-3 days
- check the date
- remove AA batteries few minutes
- recheck the date (no change)
However, I remember when I don't use my camera and remove the battery for a long time (like 1 month or more), the date came back to the default time. So I assume that there is a small battery in the Pentax K100DS. Probably that yours is almost dead... :(

Prime lens are lens whose focal length is fixed. For example: the Pentax DA 50mm f1.8.
Artist lens? I don't know this terminology but I assume that the refer to few specific lens used to creative works like Lensbaby, Fisheye lens (etc.).

Hello ladies and guys,
I'm a new member here and I started the photography (as a hobby) in 2002 with Canon AE-1. Then in 2006, I bought my 1st DSLR Pentax (K100D Super) and... his was the beginning of the end with a lot of others Pentax camera and lens in 10 years. I'm currently using a K-5.
Probably because I was a boyscout, my preference in photography are:
- wildlife
- macro
- portrait
- and night photography
I'm currently trying to explore B&W photography (portrait) and star tray.
Note: I apologize for my English, it's not my first language. :confused:
