I believe it just threads to a lens, FF or not. I Googled it and folks recommended a 50mm. There's info out there though it requires some searching. Oddly, the listing was taken off then reappeared as a $40 auction. I am not the seller. I'd actually considered buying it, but as stated in my initial post, I need to play with the toys I have first, lol.

Will the Pentax 645 tele extender 1.4 work with most lenses or just with Pentax fixed lenses? I'm trying to find out if I can use it with a Sigma 105mm Macro and a Sigma 18-250 zoom (on a K3). I'm completely unfamiliar with this "lens" (yet...not a lens, lol). Thanks so much.

Thanks so very much for your expertise. It really helped. I'd been shying away from film lenses because I thought there was some sort of negative effect when used with a DSLR body. Since reading these, I've been looking through all my old Pentax lenses from my college days that I'd had packed away...and it's like Christmas!

I used to shoot 35 then went digi-point-and-shoot. Now I'm trying to recall what I knew 20 years ago while learning what feels like a whole new format as I plunge ahead with my used-but-new-to-me DSLR.
I have searched and Googled for longer than I care to admit just trying to figure out how to determine whether a lense was intended for film or digital. I see used lenses for sale, but it's usually ambiguous as to if its a film lens or not, to the point where I now gauge it by price. If it costs a lot, I figure it's digital. Not a real scientific method. I realize you can use the older lenses on DSLRs, but I guess there's sensor issues?
How can you even tell which the lens is if it doesn't state it??? For example, I bought a lense from Adorama a couple days ago and no one could even give me a concrete response if it was an older film lens or not other than, "you can return it within 30 days." Um...ok? I bought then lens and am hoping it works out. That said, IS there even a way to tell if it's not explicitly stated in the product description?
I feel kinda dumb asking, but there I went, lol. Thanks so very much.

I have ALL of my old lenses. Heck, I even have my enlarger and contact printer in storage lol. I know there's some differences when using an old film lens on a DSLR. I'll search the forum and see what I can find out. :)

Finally going digital SLR and leaving the point and shoot in the drawer (ok, maybe not the one on my phone). I have a degree in photo back from the film days and always used a Pentax then. Somewhere over the past quarter century my film SLRs ended up collecting dust when film and developing got pricey. I recently bought a used K7 to familiarize myself with DSLRs and found this forum as a result of searching for lenses. What a phenomenal resource you are!!! (The, uh, Internet didn't exist during my art school days. This would have been SO helpful then!) I feel like I'm a total beginner again so I'm very thankful that I came across this forum. Thanks so much to all of you for sharing your knowledge!
