Nice shot, I like how the backlit/rimlit to give them depth and separation.

Cheers mate. Yeah, it was the first Pentax lens I purchased; I managed to get a near-mint copy for $60 (44USD) when they were going for $100+ (73USD).
It has become one of my favourite primes. The output is gorgeous and as you say, it performs so well for it's size. :) ---------- Post added 11-08-20 at 06:47 PM ----------
Thanks mate :)
I am pretty happy with how this turned out, and it was a lot easier to nail the composition than I thought, compared to my D700. The liveview aids (grids/level sensor, etc) really help on the K-3.
A lot easier to wrangle the files in editing too. Cheers.

Cheers mate. I have been hanging around these forums for several years and it is great to finally be able to contribute and interact more. Everyone is so friendly & helpful. Love the Pentax experience.

A Melbourne cliche, the 101 Collins building framed by the Birrarung Marr bridge.
I have had my new K-3 II for just a few weeks and been itching to test it out in the city now that our lockdowns are lifted. As my first Pentax coming from Nikon I am loving my K3.
Technical: A stack of a 15 & 30s pixelshift exposure processed in RawTherapee to median stack the 4 individual pixelshift frames for increased SNR & lower noise rather than increasing sharpness further; as the 50/1.7 is plenty sharp enough already at f/8. Then the two exposures were combined in Aurora HDR to add some DR to the highlights and finally finished off in Photoshop to cleanup some dust spots/flares and resize for final export.
Cheers. 101 Collins 101 Collins by Brendan Bell, on Flickr |

Yeah, I had a suspicion that would be the case. Ok, I will grab the genuine one, thankfully I found some locally. Thanks for all the advice guys. :)
Also, I found a Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5 yesterday in great condition for $35AUD at my local bazaar. I'll post some images with it soon.

Lovely shot! I've been after the 28/3.5 for awhile. Just got a K-3 and wondering what type of M42 to K adapters you guys use; the official one or a 3rd-party? Cheers.

Lovely spot, & well captured.
I wanted to keep the edits subtle, to maintain a natural feel. |
